Service and support

Canon Pixma iP6600D

Built-in duplexing; 3.5-inch LCD and full set of controls on the printer; solid photo quality; direct printing via PictBridge, IrDA, and (with adapter) Bluetooth; Mac and Windows compatible.

Mediocre text quality; slow.

Versatile stand-alone operation and good photo quality make the Canon Pixma iP6600D appealing for digital camera owners, but slow operation and mediocre text output mean it's a bad choice for SOHO or business use.

Canon Pixma iP6600D Photo Printer

The Canon Pixma iP6600D Photo Printer can function as an all-purpose printer, but it's best reserved for photos.

Fast performance for photos. Excellent paper handling with dual paper feed and duplexing. Extensive photo-kiosk style front-panel menus for printing from memory cards.

Performance on business applications is wanting. Text quality is only fair.

Canon Pixma iP6600D

A big LCD and two-sided printing make this well-designed photo printer attractive, and it prints high-quality photos quickly.

Big color LCD display, Very high quality photo prints

Lacks PictBridge support

The iP6600D is particularly well suited for printing photos directly from a digital camera or media card, and two paper trays and a duplexer add to its versatility.

Affordably priced, loaded with features, produces top-notch photos.

No built-in networking features.

Canon Pixma iP6600D

If you're tired of waiting for someone else to process your digital snapshots, Canon's Pixma iP6600D will let you print great, long-lasting photos from your Mac.

Huge, 3.5-inch color preview LCD ; two paper trays ; automatic double-sided printing built-in ; economical, individual ink tanks ; prints great-looking photos

Plain paper text printing was a little fuzzy

Setting up the printer is easy. There are red lights on each of the six individual ChromaLife 100 ink cartridges that light up when installed correctly. These lights will also alert you, by blinking on and off, when you begin to run out of ink

An easy-to-use, six-colour Canon

Large LCD monitor ; Twin paper sources and DVD/CD labels ; Duplex print as standard PictBridge socket
