Canon Pixma MP970 Photo All-In-One

The Canon Pixma MP970 Photo All-In-One (AIO) is a high-end digital photo lab (and AIO) at a surprisingly low price.

High-quality photos. Scans and prints from 35mm film. Network connection. Dual paper feed. Duplexes.

No automatic document feeder. No fax support. Clumsy network installation.

Canon Pixma MP970 review: Canon Pixma MP970

Canon Pixma MP970

Network-ready; auto duplexer; large LCD; control panel is easy to use and menus are well-thought-out; memory card slots and PictBridge port.

Task speeds are slower than the last generation's; print/scan quality is not up to Canon's usual standards and needs improvement across the board; USB port doesn't support hard drives or flash drives.

The Canon Pixma MP970 isn't up to the company's usually high standards. You're better off spending more for last year's version.

Canon PIXMA MP970 All-in-One

Canon's top multifunction inkjet pretty much covers all bases. Just don't ask about the duplexing.

So, the extra £85 you pay for the PIXMA MP970 over the PIXMA MP610 brings you a finer minimum drop size, a built-in transparency scanner, a bigger LCD screen, six-colour print and network connectivity. The machine is at the top of Canon's range and has...

Canon PIXMA MP970 review

A top of the range printer from Canon, but is it worth its high asking price?

Scanner ; Direct print functions

Expensive ; Average photos

The MP970 is very expensive to buy for an A4 printer and its extra colour space is only slightly noticeable in most prints. This makes it only really worth the money if you need the scanner and other direct print facilities.

Canon Pixma MP970 review

The Canon Pixma MP970 is the flagship model in Canon's range of Pixma printers, coming in at almost £250. However, its speed, quality and versatility make it a good choice for home users or small businesses that need to do a lot of photo printing and...

So while the Canon Pixma MP970 is more expensive than most of its rivals, its sheer performance, quality and range of features make it a good choice for more demanding home and small business users.
