Canon Selphy ES3

Like the Selphy ES2 it replaces, the Canon Selphy ES3 uses a single cartridge to let you load both dye roll and paper in one step.

Internal memory can store 999 photos. Print pack holds both dye roll and paper. Photos are highly water resistant.

Relatively big and heavy for a small-format printer. Diagonal lines (as with spokes in a wheel) can print with jagged edges.

Canon Selphy ES3 Snapshot Printer

The Selphy ES3's fun factor is negated by its problems with speed, print quality, and consumables costs.

Lots of fun printing options ; large LCD ; Very good documentation

Expensive ; slow ; vulnerable paper path ; Yellowish photos ; wasteful consumables

Don't let the Canon Selphy ES3's cuteness blind you to its mediocre print quality and wasteful consumables. Families may appreciate its wealth of printing options, but there's not much else to like here

Fantastic print quality, small, comprehensive media support, easy to use

Expensive consumables, no battery option, minor rainbow effect in some photos

Costly consumables aside, Canon's SELPHY ES3 photo printer is a fantastic buy that provides excellent print quality in a small package.

Canon Selphy ES3

For enthusiasts and those wanting to produce high-quality prints at home using a dedicated photo printer, the Selphy ES3 is a great purchase, but the cost of consumables and cost per print is fairly steep.
