Dell V305w All-in-One Wireless Printer review: Dell V305w All-in-One Wireless Printer

Dell V305w All-in-One Wireless Printer

Low initial cost; simple, attractive design.

Expensive replacement cartridges; sluggish as a photo printer; poor-quality prints; no Ethernet port.

The Dell V305w is cosmetically appealing and inexpensive, but the output quality needs significant improvement, and the cost to maintain the printer is much higher than the industry standard. We recommend checking out the competition for a printer that...

V305W All-in-one Printer

Dell aims its V305W color inkjet multifunction printer ($130 as of August 4, 2008) at budget-constrained small-office users, stuffing it with a multitude of features for the price. Regrettably, a bear trap lies hidden in that low unit price: Very high...

Fast text printing and copying Wireless networking, media slots

Outrageously expensive inks Very slow printing photos

It's too bad about the inks, because the V305W is a nice printer in many ways. But even if you don't print all that much, you'll notice the dent in your wallet fairly quickly. And unfortunately, this printer doesn't print money

Exorbitant ink costs overshadow this multifunction printer's many nice features.

Integrated Wi-Fi, media card slots, good documentation

High ink costs

Dell V305w All In One

The Dell V305w is an inexpensive all-in-one printer that also connects wirelessly to your home network. However, the output quality needs significant improvement, and the cost to maintain the printer is much higher than the industry standard.

Low initial cost ; Simple, attractive design

Expensive replacement cartridges ; Sluggish as a photo printer ; Poor-quality prints ; No Ethernet port

Dell covers the V305w with a standard one-year warranty, although specific information is difficult to find in the documentation and the website. There's also an option on the site to extend the standard warranty, but you're required to register for a...

Dell V305w

Decent wireless printing, but the poor scanning, copying and speed let the Dell down

Unfortunately, this performance isn’t maintained elsewhere. The scanner offered acceptable results with basic documents, but the Dell suffered when tasked with larger, more detailed photos

Dell V305W

Wireless connectivity is good, and setup is very easy. Scanner is good quality, and the printer unit looks good in my house.

Uses an awful lot of ink when photo printing. Generally slow and noisy. Often prints photos a little bit darker than on screen displays.
