Epson Expression XP-430 review: Do-it-all budget printer is a perfect fit for tight spaces.

The XP-430 "Small-in-One" printer turns in high scores for print quality, a versatile spread of connectivity options and remote printing from popular mobile devices.

Along with remote printing, the space-saving Epson XP-430 "Small-in-One" can also print from a variety of mobile devices including iOS, Android and Amazon Fire tablets. It features reliable output quality and a large color screen for making simple...

It doesn't offer two-sided printing and the cost per page for the ink cartridges is slightly higher than average.

The Epson Expression Home XP-430 combines reliable do-it-all multifunction printing and a space-saving design at an ultra-affordable price.

Epson Expression Home XP-430 Small-in-One

The Epson Expression Home XP-430 Small-in-One is a compact budget MFP geared toward home use, with a modest feature set and good text quality.

Budget price. Compact. Lightweight. Above-par text. Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct.

No fax. Photo printing is slow. Relatively high running costs. Lacks an Ethernet port. No auto-duplexer or ADF. Lacks port for USB thumb drive.

Conclusion Manufacturers have to sacrifice some features in order to build a sub-$100 MFP. Absent from the Epson Expression Home XP-430 Small-in-One are Ethernet, an auto-duplexer, an ADF, fax capabilities, and a USB port for thumb drives. Most of...

Consumer review (cnet.com)

1 year old hardly used and throwing it in the garbage

I am totally frustrated with this machine, not sure why cnet tests were so good, they should put the machine on the shelf for a few months and try the tests again.

Worked good when I first got it.

Will not print anything now and have tried replacing ink and all maintenance tasks.

Consumer review (cnet.com)

Low cost / Easy setup / Nice printing

I have bought 3 of these now, for myself, family members and a disabled friend. The setups have gone extremely smooth and quick, the flexibility for connectivity has made it a big hit, and at this low cost point there really isn't much room to complain.

The cost, the ease of setup, decent print quality, great flexibility for connecting devices (PC/MAC/Mobile/Email/Google)

Like all low cost printers it doesn't give you the feeling of quality, be realistic it is a plastic $50 printer...

Will not buy an Epson again

Unreliable. I had to google my way through problems and got help from other consumers that had the exact same problems. Troubleshooting was not helpful at all. After a rocky set-up process, it worked with a USB cable until it was time to replace the...
