Epson Stylus Photo R340 Printer

Like its predecessor, the R320, the $199 Epson Stylus Photo R340 offers many connectivity and file transfer options. Three media card slots let you print directly from most common media card formats and transfer images to your PC. You can use the...

Top-notch photo prints ; 2.4-inch color LCD display

Slow print speeds ; Only holds 120 sheets of plain paper

In our speed tests, the R340 printed our color photo in 82 seconds. That's nearly twice as fast as the earlier R320, but still lags behind the two Canon printers we tested this month and well behind the fastest model, the HP Photosmart 8250, which...

Epson Stylus Photo R340

The Epson Stylus Photo R340 offers lots of features, including the ability to print on printable optical discs.

Quality ranges from good to very good. Prints directly from PictBridge cameras, memory cards, and USB storage devices. LCD for previewing photos. Prints directly on printable optical discs.

Extremely poor performance on our business applications suite. Paper tray holds only 120 sheets.

Epson Stylus Photo R340

If you want to print pictures at home, Epson's Stylus Photo R340 prints the best color photos in its class. Its only weakness: black-and-white prints have a slight color cast.

Excellent color-photo print quality ; easy to print directly onto printable CD or DVD media ; big, 2.4-inch color preview LCD ; economical, individual ink tanks

Black-and-white photos have a slight color cast ; plain-paper text printing was a little fuzzy

Setting up the R340 is easy. Its six individual, dye-based, ink cartridges snap into place and a USB 2.0 port on the back connects the printer to your Mac. Aside from the necessary printer drivers, the R340's installation CD comes with a couple of...

Epson Stylus Photo R340

Following on from the soon-to-be-discontinued R320 comes this even heavier-duty photo printer from Epson. It may not be cheap, but you get a host of goodies for your money.

The Photo R340 faces fierce competition from the HP Photosmart 8250, and we think the HP retains a slight edge on overall quality and performance, but this is a good model.

Epson Stylus Photo R340

Digital photographers can skip the PC altogether with this device for printing and archiving their photos

With good printing, a great range of easy-to-use features and economical running, this printer is a top choice at the price.

Great Prints

Definately stick to Epson paper on this - but for quick prints from a flash card, or USB Stick, works like a champ!

High Quality, Fast, Multi-Cartridge Ink System, Affordable Paper

Large in Size - fits on one side of a desk, little slow, but to be expected

mix with sugar for lemonade

Since I bought this solely for printing on DVDs it was a complete bust. The tray wouldn't stay aligned and the printer kicked it out when readying for print despite ALL the tips on the net. Avoid!

prints okay on paper, still prefer my HP

This printer power owns. Its a dvd disc and cover printing factory. Easy setup instructions. Nice Manual

If you have WINXP64 you will need to download the drivers from epson's website because they are not on the software CD included with the printer
