Still Goin'

I wrote the review above ^ in 2010.. Well it's 2012 and it's still going. We've been using this in an office environment (6-10 employees) the whole time. We've basically never serviced it, only run oil every so often

Still in use today

I remember that we jammed this thing right away after we got it (late 07) & we had to have a local company repair it. Otherwise it's never really been a problem. Still going strong.

Still working

Usual shredder stuff

Compared to my last........Godzilla

this same unit was $30 to $40 cheaper at Newegg than elsewhere. Ordered from Newegg on a Thursday night, and the unit arrived on Tuesday with standard shipping. Just can't beat it.

This unit is worth every penny. We have a home office that we are almost outgrowing. You start off with a smaller, cheaper shredder, thinking that you will not overwork it......but you do. the last one I killed was a office supply store private label @...

I have never met a shredder that did not require pushing down on the pile to compress the waste, until you finally need to empty the bin. Emptying the bin is always a pain on shredders

Smelling burnt plastic

This unit is for periodic shredding, not for businesses that shred five to six people's work daily. Also, since plastic bags do no work with this unit, a bigger trash can would be nice... but for $200 I guess it is ok. For home use it is fine.

I like the cross cut shredding, very effective. Staples are not a problem at all. Haven't tried paperclips though... Credit cards and CDs work fine too

The specs say 20 minutes continuous and that is when the thermal overload stops the machine. However, I smell melting plastic at that point. Not sure how long this will last before a failure will occur. No failure yet, just burt plastic smell after 20...

Fellowes SB-97Cs Cross-Cut Shredder

It is a little on the large size, but this is not a Con for me. Because it's large it can hold a lot more shreddings before I have to bother to empty it and thats a big Pro for me! Make sure you oil it every time you empty the shredder and it will...

This things is quiet and POWERFUL. Eats staples, CD's, old credit cards, all the junk mail I can throw at it, and fat stacks of paper like its cutting butter. Worth every penny I spent on it. I would definitely buy another one if I needed another shredder

It won't make me coffee

Just what the Doctor ordered

Bought this for my home and not a business. I expect it to last me Years. If you hate Junk mail as much as I do or are concerned about Identity thief you owe it to yourself to purchase a Good Shredder....

I probably didnt really need to order this But I got Soooo Tired of opening all that junk mail and then taking the time to rip it up. I Had a smaller shredder but it would do only a few pages at a time. Next to Worthless. So I ordered this. This baby...

Yep It's big, bigger then a full size tower case, Wider for sure. I knew that when I ordered it though. I wanted a monster and I got it

Fine Small/Medium Office Shredder

Works well and has enough H.P. to not jam or overheat easily.

Does what Fellowes says it will do. Most lesser shredders are wimps that don't last

Not exactly cheap :-)

Fellowes SB-97Cs Cross-Cut Shredder

I am very impressed with the shredder as I can now easily shred all of my junk mail without first having to remove it from the envelope. Once again Newegg did a great job on the shipping. I actually had the shredder before I received the invoice via...

This shredder is very powerful while also being very quiet. It easily devours junk mail, credit cards, etc. Additionally, the waste basket on this is very large

This shredder is very large. If you do not have a fairly large space for this I would consider something else

You can extend the duty cycle with a box fan, take out the waste basket then put the fan up to it.

Powerful

Not so great with plastic bags... Most confetti cut shredder aren't

Shreds....Yes, Perfect.....No

This shredder will cut paper, it will destroy CD's, it will obliterate credit cards, but it has its problems.

Shreds well, keeps your papers, cd's and credit cards out of the wrong hands

A bit pricey, loud, if basket slightly off it will not run
