The HP Photosmart A626 Compact Photo Printer substitutes a touch screen for front-panel buttons.

Kiosk-style touch-screen controls. Prints 5-by-7s, 4-by-6s, and up to 4-by-12-inch panoramas. Battery option.

Although quality and speed are both respectable, both are a step down from the best available.

HP Photosmart A626

Small size makes it easy to carry around; large touch screen LCD on an adjustable panel; same broad feature set as the Photosmart A826; can make prints as large as 5x7.

Slow prints and middling print quality.

The HP Photosmart A626 is supposed to bridge the gap between the A826 and the A526 snapshot printers by providing lots of features, good print quality, and decent print speeds, but it falls short on the last two counts.

The HP Photosmart A626 Compact Photo Printer is designed for those on the go, but is it any good? We get printing to find out. Like the A826, the HP Photosmart A626 sells itself on being a portable printer that allows you to print anywhere you are.

Compact, good prints, easy to use

No cable, no ink, no paper, and no battery in the box, not the fastest printer on the block

The HP A626 delivers plenty of bang for your buck. With enough photo-editing and enhancing features to keep the kids occupied, the easy-to-use HP A626 produces crisp, colour-rich prints. Pity about the drying time, though.

Easy to use, with or without the PC - have produced pics of all sizes - quality brilliant in every one.

Haven't found any yet - maybe the cost of replacement ink and paper, but as yet don't need ant.
