Kodak ESP 5250 All-In-One Printer

The Kodak ESP 5250 delivers surprisingly high-quality text for an inkjet.

Unusually high-quality text for an inkjet. Fast photo printing. WiFi. Low claimed cost per page.

Relatively slow for business applications. Only a 100-sheet paper capacity. Photos tend to lose details in light areas.

ESP 5

Kodak's ESP 5 All-in-One Printer stands out from other color inkjet multifunction printers because of its significantly cheaper inks. Unfortunately, that's not reason enough to buy this midpriced ($170 as of August 4, 2008) machine, given its slowness...

Cheap inks; useful software; Nicely designed control panel

Slow; photos have yellowish cast Scans and copies are mediocre quality

The Kodak ESP 5 is a decent machine with very affordable inks, but it is slow. If you print a lot and are patient, the cheaper ink might be a reasonable trade-off

Kodak ESP 5 review: Kodak ESP 5

Kodak ESP 5

Improved photo quality over previous model; attractive design; large 3-inch LCD screen; easy-to-use Home Center software.

Poor quality build with several mechanical errors; average print speed; graphics quality still lacks definition.

The Kodak ESP5 is an attractive full color all-in-one printer, scanner, and copier, and casual photo enthusiasts will be happy with the watered-down editing software, but hard-core users should look elsewhere for a multifunction printer. The ESP5 is...

NEW & IMPROVEDKodak ESP 5250 -- Third Time a Charm?By MIKE PASINIEditorThe Imaging Resource Digital Photography NewsletterReview Date: December 2009We first reviewed Kodak's pigment-based all-in-one devices in December 2007 after touring the Canal Pond...

From the introduction of Kodak's pigment-based inkjets, we've been impressed with the concept. The finely ground pigments matched to the extensive paper grades and finishes all barcoded for identification by the printer promised a level of quality and...

Kodak ESP5 multifunction printer

The Kodak ESP5 is the latest multi-function printer from Kodak that offers print, copy and scanning capabilities. The multi-function devices are fast replacing the dedicated photo printers at this price range, and it is easy to see why. These all in...

So is the print quality acceptable? To the average consumer, me included, the prints output by the ESP 5 are indistinguishable from a four or even a six color printer that employs separate ink cartridges. Sure the experts with their loupes who will...

Kodak ESP 5 All-In-One

A decent family multifunction

Decent print quality, great scan quality, very efficient with consumables

Some software issues, vertical banding apparent in photos

Although there are cheaper home inkjet multifunctions, the Kodak EasyShare ESP 5 provides a decent all-round experience for its price. Its focus on print and scan quality allows for good results, particularly with photos.

Kodak ESP 5250 review: Kodak ESP 5250

Kodak ESP 5250

Improved photo quality and speed over previous model; 2.4-inch LCD screen; easy to use Home Center software.

Fickle paper input tray; expensive; lacks auto-document feeder, USB port and scanner hinge.

Kodak's ESP 5250 multifunction printer isn't marred by the errors of its predecessors, but it still needs improvement before it can keep up with the competition. Right now, its pleasing photo quality and satisfactory output speed don't justify the $170...
