Epson EH-TW9200

Epson's new top-end projector is here. And it's good.

Superb contrast-rich 2D pictures ; Sharp, unfatiguing 3D pictures ; Exceptional set up flexibility

Runs noisily in normal lamp mode ; Dynamic iris causes a slight rumbling noise ; No motorised zoom

The TW9200’s Frame Interpolation system, meanwhile, is effective enough in its workings, in that it can reduce judder without causing many unpleasant side effects. However, we’d question whether you really need to use it given that the projector...

Epson EH-TW9200W

It's not the showstopper we hoped for, but this beautifully built projector is still an entertaining watch

Bright, colourful picture ; punchy and entertaining ; Good level of detail ; Comfortable, smooth and immersive with 3D films ; Impeccable finish and build ; Easy to set up ; Abundant connections ; Wireless features are a bonus

Slight motion issues ; Quality of competition

At this price, our expectations are high and the Epson simply doesn’t deliver the high standards set by the formidable Panasonic PT-AT6000E rival, which still holds the distinction of being the best £3000 projector currently available.

Epson EH-TW9200W review

Having made many of our favourite projectors in recent years, Epson suffered a dip in form last year – especially in light of the improvements made by some rivals. The gentle criticism it received seems to have galvanised the world's best-selling...

Sharp, contrast-rich pictures; excellent setup flexibility; crosstalk-free 3D

Runs noisily in high lamp mode; slight rumbling noise from the dynamic iris; input lag a touch high for serious gaming; high lamp mode undefeatable for 3D

Epson EH-TW9200 3LCD Projector

For around £500 you can pick up a very decent entry-level projector built around Texas Instruments' Digital Light Processor (DLP), an ingenious electromechanical device that turns electrical signals into pictures. I've reviewed several such machines...

Weighing in at 8.4Kg and measuring 140 x 466 x 395 mm (height, width, depth) this is definitely a whale of a machine, particularly in comparison with the tiny Viewsonic PLED-W800 I reviewed here recently. It has a full complement of inputs: two HDMI...

Epson EH-TW9200

Excellent blacks and dynamic range, Good image brightness, even in 3D, Very good greyscale and colour out-of-the-box, Reference greyscale and colour after calibration, Very good greyscale and gamma out-of-the-box, Comprehensive calibration controls,...

Motorised lens controls would be useful, No lens memory feature, Potential issue with dust blobs

Epson have been refining their flagship home cinema projector over the last two years, with each one superseding the one before. The EH-TW9200 is another worthy addition with the attractive design and excellent build quality that we have come to expect...

Epson EH-TW9200

Brilliant projector! No noise at all. Colours are very bright and clear, easy to set up. I'm running my Ps4 through this, and it's brilliant, even on 3D movies.

A tad expensive but compared to other brands the value is clearly seen.

My first projector experience

This is my first projector ever and I have to say in short I am so impressed. Media Projectors have obviously come a long way over the years but I seriously wasn't expecting something so amazing at a fraction of the price something similar would've...
