Mitsubishi HC6000 review: Mitsubishi HC6000

Mitsubishi HC6000

The Mitsubishi HC6000 is a solid value with capable video processing; linear grayscale tracking; accurate color decoding; full feature package for ease of setup; and plenty of connectivity.

Inaccurate primary and secondary colors; black-level performance could be improved a bit more.

One of the better performers in the entry-level 1080p projector race, the Mitsubishi HC6000 also benefits from a comprehensive feature set.

Mitsubishi HC6000 Projector

Mitsibushi carries over the fine styling from the HC6000's earlier versions, with a compact and elegant cabinet finished in charcoal gray, along with a lens cover that is sculpturally shaped to match the cabinet's curves and contours. The optical...

Mitsubishi has a winner with the HC6000, providing a top-notch video processing section along with an excellent optical system that allows the easiest and fastest setup via the remote control. It’s also pleasantly devoid of gimmicky picture...

Mitsubishi HC6000 3LCD Video Projector

Introduction Mitsubishi's new HC6000, using advanced three-panel inorganic LCD panels (3LCD), replaces last year's HC5000. It is the company's latest 1080p 3LCD front projector. I was very pleased to discover that Mitsubishi made significant...

Mitsubishi HC6000 Review

Despite the modest looking improvements in the specifications, the HC6000 is clearly a better projector than the HC5000, which itself was an outstanding product.

Mitsubishi HC6000

Excellent sharpness ; Quietest home theater projector we have ever seen (or heard) ; Slightly better than average brightness in "best" mode (Cinema) ; Average brightness in "brightest" mode ; After proper setup, offers balanced and extremely pleasing...

Pixel visibility is classic LCD, but since it's a 1080p projector the pixel structure is so small, that you won't see it at normal seating distances ; Remote Control's backlight is dim, definitely annoying in a dark room, until you memorize the buttons...

This is almost the perfect projector for a home theatre setup; it'll produce sublime colours whether watching Blu-ray movies or DVDs, and it's also a very quiet and relatively cool operator. However, its ability to handle dark scenes could be better...

Natural-looking colour reproduction, motorised lens movements, will happily display lower-than-high-definition resolutions from a PC without looking blotchy or pixelated

Dark scenes in movies had some details lost in the shadows, slightly soft overall image quality, no picture-in-picture

Mitsubishi HC6000

A quality design in many ways, and well worth an audition

Colourful image; low background noise; sharp, detailed image; quiet; small

Only the presence of less expensive rivals

One of the better performers in the entry-level 1080p projector race, the Mitsubishi HC6000 also benefits from a comprehensive feature set.

Solid value with capable video-processing ; Linear greyscale tracking ; Accurate colour decoding ; Full feature package for ease of set-up ; Plenty of connectivity

Inaccurate primary and secondary colours ; Black-level performance could be improved a bit more

This scene also provided a tough test for motion, with a sharp left-to-right pan in the diner when the young girl comes along to serve Jack. Unfortunately, the HC6000 doesn't display a multiple of 24 frames per second from Blu-ray, so there was some...
