Excellent color and overall image quality, after calibration. Most folks looking primarily for movie watching will find it an excellent fit ; Brighter than most 1080p projectors when comparing "best" color modes ; Extremely sharp image ; Very good...

Somewhat below average brightness in "brightest" mode, may be a limit to those wanting larger screens (larger than 110" diagonal), or those who heavily watch sports with moderate, intentional, ambient light ; Cannot match the black level performance of...

If you plan to buy your projector through your local dealer, and the HC6500 is in your budget, it certainly should be one to consider. While it won't measure up to Mitsubishi's new HC7000 (a safe bet), or some of the new models yet to be released (the...

Mitsubishi HC6500 LCD Projector

If you're looking for a projector that's quiet as a mouse, Mitsubishi has the answer.

For starters, the HC6500 proves exceptionally easy to set up thanks to fully motorised (and superbly flexible) zoom, focus and vertical image shifting tools, together with plenty of keystone correction - all accessible from the remote control. You even...

Mitsubishi HC6500

Mitsubishi has delivered a top-notch sub-$5000 HD projector with the HC6500. It's a noticeable improvement over its predecessors and a serious contender at this hotly-contested 1080p projection price point.

Deep blacks for an LCD ; Natural looking colours and skintones ; Flexible placement ; Whisper quiet

Needs proper calibration ; Stiff competition

Conclusion A lovely full HD projector, the HC6500 proves an excellent all-round performer for the money. Blacks impress and you'd have to spend much more to better them, plus for a natural and vivid picture quality, this Mitsubishi's one of the best...

Mitsubishi HC6500

Pure silence. Funny to say it's the lack of noise that stands out but it's so quiet you actually notice, if you see what I mean:) Great picture, blacks are black as I can expect at this price point.

A white case would have been nice, it would blend in better.
