Easy hook-up. But, with volume up, there was some 60HZ hum. I haven't yet hooked up the ground. I hope the hum goes away when I do. The hum is low and only noticeable with no music and volume set high. This may be normal from stray pickups.

Ease to set up. Auto start and shut down function is a great idea. The only drawback is not the units fault and that is different quality of sound from TV channels, however there is a compensation in the different modes available in the unit.

For the price you wont go wrong. I didnt notice any extreme overheating. But to prevent this this I always place two large computer tower case fans over any receiver I purchase.

Trade out the Chinese 6SN7's for any vintage NOS or a pair of new Tung-Sol's and hear the magic of tubes on any amplifier, receiver, etc. Great for use between a preamp / source / DAC and a headphone amplifier!

As a standalone device, this is a 3 star item. it works well, but has poor battery life with a noticeable hiss while charging with external battery (not uncommon) pair with a media button for full effectiveness.

Arcam's FMJ A19 shouldn't be used for driving loads much below 6 ohms at high levels, but that is a sensible compromise made to keep its price affordable. Other than that caveat, the A19's measured performance is excellent.
