Onkyo TX-NR515

Onkyo triumphs again with a wonderful 7.2-channel AV amp.

Explosive, detailed performance, Lengthy feature list, Onscreen menus

Can be hard to find music on server, No front panel flap

Onkyo TX-NR515

Once top of the class, but now beaten by newer rivals

Fine build and finish; expansive, refined sound; finesse; great online features

Rivals sound more immersive, and tighter in the bass; network functions can be laborious to use

Onkyo TX-NR515: The verdict Ultimately, the TX-NR515 performs so very similarly to the outgoing TX-NR609 that they’re virtually indistinguishable.

Onkyo TX-NR515 review

When it comes to AV receivers, Onkyo campaigns to be the people's champion. Every year its entry-level models come packed to the hilt with features, sporting a competitive price tag and, more often than not, a nailed-on sound quality, too. This...

Assertive, detailed movie performance, good music streaming features; easy to use

Contro app and UI not cutting-edge; not a massive leap over previous generation

ONKYO TX-NR515

My receiver made it 1 month over 2 years and now experiencing frequent internet connectivity issues and intermittent sound output issues. Up until this point it was a good receiver that met expectations. Now I may have to wait upward of an hour for...

Multiple HDMI ports, internet connected

Outdated UI, apparently not durable

Awsome

The only thing that would make this a PERFECT system would me a HDTV tuner built in.

Works much better than expected. Replaces my PC and/or video converter box. Aux HDMI input in front is also a nice feature. Good GUI

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Excellent

Great sound, powered zone 2 (though I haven't used it yet), and internet radio services (with wifi adapter)

The three point sound calibrator is a joke, just use the single (better yet, do it manually). And the HD component video inputs only let through 480 or 720... one of those. Moral of the story is, you can't hook up an Xbox or Blue ray to the component...

ONKYO TX-NR515

Works well, firmware updated on startup. I am very impressed for the price.

Cheap, many inputs, wireless capable

Occasionally quirky (much less than a typical windows computer however), somewhat slow switching inputs/features

Solid feature set for the price point. Bought on Black Friday

Airplay was the one feature I wish it had

Update your Firmware

Over all i really enjoy the features and sound quality and being 4k video ready will keep this receiver from being obsolete for years

Great features for the price. sound quality is amazing I've had receivers that cost me way more and sound about the same

the stickers to label the speaker wire do not match the colors of binding posts so read label not the colors

Good receiver for price

I bought this to replace old Yamaha 5830 which had no HDMI inputs in my family room which has 5.1 bookself Yamaha speakers and sub. My old Yamaha was able to fill the room and my was was complaining to turn down volume, with this one she has yet to...

of Inputs, 7.2, Multi-room support, 1.4 HDMI, HDMI pass through that actually works, included USB dongle for WIFI and looks good, price, decent sound

only 80 Watts per channel output, not loud enough for my room
