Great Receiver!

This is a wonderful receiver, very powerful for the price. It also comes with many options including multiple zone set up, Audissy(SP) which calibarates the equalizer and receiver it self. Is able to bi-amp front speakers. Easy to set up... overall...

Heavy and huge, 60 lbs is no joke :)

Great reciever !!!! always bet on onkyo

It is a great receiver setup is easy being that you just plug in the hdmi's set the inputs and then plug the speakers in. plug the mic in. let it set its self up then enjoy about 45 min of setup and your done. hope this helps. anyone who has questions...

This receiver pretty much has it all. I formally have a s590 surround from onkyo which was a nice starter system. So for my first movie I choose batman returns because it was the last movie i heard on my old system. The new receiver with the old...

only a few cons to the whole thing. it should have come with networl setup or at least usb update. Something of this caliber should have that. Supposedly others have updated using rs232 cable but i dont think i will ever be trying that. it cant down...

Superior sound. Great video. Perfect for most home theaters

Great receiver. Best cost per features and quality available anywhere. 2 extra zones (one powered). 4 HDMI inputs, 3 component video inputs. Audessy microphone setup is better than the microphone setup on my 2005 Pioneer Elite receiver.

only the HDCP limitations of HDMI. HDCP makes it impossible to listen to my ipod while watching an HDMI connected device. I was concerned over Newegg's no warranty & no return policy, but the package arrived was not refurb or a gray market product. I...

contrary to the other review you CAN output all kinds of audio using HDMI if and only if your source supports it. you have to have hdmi 1.3 and above to have true hd soun etc. if you connect it to your htpc you cant get all those types of audio due to...

Awesome receiver!!

This has got to be one of the best bargains in the home theater arena. It has the sophistication of today's most top-of-the-line receivers along with easy setup, to make this unit a must have for anyone serious about home theater. Connectivity aplenty...

High power output - 140W X 7

other than being a beast (53lbs), none that I can find.

Good, but don't expect miracles

When Onkyo says 1080p upscaling, bear in mind that this means literally just an upscaling, no smoothing or any of that involved. If you are buying this to make output on something look better, you are buying the wrong receiver. This will make it look...

Has way too many of basically every US standard input.

1080p upscaling =/= upscaling and smoothing (THIS IS IMPORTANT).

A BEAST of an AV receiver

Very heavy and tall. Make sure your cabinet or shelf can accomodate it.

Lots of power at 140W per channel

A 2-3 second "delay" in acquiring the video signal when changing from one video input source to another. Even happens within the same video source when I change from channel to channel on my directTV box.

a slight disappointment

the audio section is great

the video section leaves a lot to be desired. my first problem is my toshiba hdtv has a dvi input and the onkyo will not out put through the hdmi no picture no menu no nothing. trying to out put through the componet section resulted in very poor video....

Confessions of a reformed audiophile - Listening to this with Martin Logan Vantage speakers (electrostatic) and Magenpan surrounds - exceptional! Strong, tight bass, liquid and transparent mid-range and highs. Superb 1080i picture on Sony Bravia....

On screen setup not beautiful but works okay and gets the job done. You set it up and then don't see it again except for the occasional tweak. Heavy! A con? Power supply too big? Is that possible?

What a price! What a machine!

If you've navigated to this page in search of a new receicver or simply by chance, you need to click on the "ADD TO CART" button immediately!

Absolutely stunning everything on this machine. Impecible sound quality with THX 2 PLUS and the best 1080p upscaling available. A high-end receiver with a middle ranged pricetag!

Horridly out-dated configuration screen, but that's it!
