Yamaha RX-V667 review: Yamaha RX-V667

Yamaha RX-V667

Excellent sound quality; six HDMI inputs; best-in-class graphical user interface; analog video upconversion; audio return channel supported; standby pass-through; 7.1 multichannel analog inputs; 3D compatible; second-zone functionality.

Requires $100 dock for iPod/iPhone connectivity; no minijack input; more expensive than some competitors.

Yamaha's RX-V667 is one of the best midrange AV receivers of 2010, with excellent sound quality, a best-in-class user interface, and more connectivity than its competitors, but it may be more AV receiver than you need.

Yamaha RX-V667 7.2 Channel Digital Home Theater Receiver Preview

The RX-V667 is sure to be a hit among budget minded A/V-philes craving legitimately good performance for little out of pocket expense. Discrete amps and 3D processing for under $600. Wow!

Yamaha RX-V667 review

The RX-V667 is a first-class piece of kit, with a distinctive sonic presentation, but the competition is fierce

Extensive spec, good build and finish ; detailed, atmospheric listen ; fine upscaling

Might seem dispassionate at first ; needs volume to come alive

Impressive across the board
