Perfect 2nd unit

This is a great no frills receiver for a garage/workshop area for basic music/radio. For a while, nobody was making a simple 2 channel unit without the uber surround sound features for around a C-note. My 35 year old Electro-Voice bookshop speakers...

Not for stereo

Here's a stereo receiver that you cannot hook a turntable to. What a joke. If you have all digital media then fine. Otherwise it's a complete waste of money. There's a reason you don't see the back panel online.

It's a Sony

You cannot connect a turntable to it

Loving it so far

I'm an apartment dweller and don't have any place for surround sound, so a 2-channel receiver is exactly what I needed right now. I see this receiver as more of an entry-level step for me into the world of home theater, but if/when it gets replaced, it...

Great sound for the price. Plenty of power output: the volume will turn up to about 74 but I usually keep it between 10 and 20 and it will still fill the room with a pair of floor-standing speakers. Five inputs is great, and they can be renamed on the...

I docked it an egg for the radio reception. It will still pick up all of the local stations, but depending on the weather and which other electronic components I have turned on, it seems VERY susceptible to external interference and can be a little...

This is a nice basic system. The setup menu is small, as mentioned before, since there's no on-screen display. But, it's OK if I put on my glasses. The maddening thing is that the receiver does not support High Definition Content Protection. I have...

Great receiver. Good Sound

No HDCP support

excellent value

This was a perfect replacement for my 20 year old stereo audio receiver which died. It is a 2 channel receiver and perfect for stereo sound in my living room. My CD turntable player hooked right up and I purchased the optional i-pod deck which plugs...

powerful, easy hook-up operation, reasonable price, great features

speaker balance control only available on the remote but that's where you want it

Died in 32 days

Sony used to be better and mean quality. To much of a rush to be in all the big box stores has made quality suffer for Sony.

Sounded good out of the box. Low distortion. I used it in a 24 x 36 shop with a ceiling

Died for no apparent reason in 32 days

Good stereo receiver

can't beat it for the money or simple operation.

This is a great stand alone 2 channel receiver for the money. It's hard to find any receiver now with less than 5.1 surround and for our customers who want a simple stereo for one or more than one room of stereo sound, these are terrific

The only thing I wish would improve is the FM radio reception

May be a PASS!

I replaced this choice with a TEAC AG-790A. Normal Garage stereo has been restored. I will save this rcvr and pass it on to a Nephew if/when a Dorm-Stereo is necessary! This rcvr replaced an RCA STA-3900 rcvr purchased 2/2/05.

Not many! This device does try to bridge normal stereo and low-end A/V functions as a rcvr. Acceptable power

Terrible FM sensitivity and selectivity. I have 31 FM stations in my area. This rcvr found 5. And, all 5 it found were noisy ; Yes, I tried both the 300-ohm and the 75-ohm antenna options. Oddly, the 75-ohm feed was worse ; The Volume Control is very...

Can Sony get any better, don't think so...

I was so lucky to have found this combination, the only thing better is Jessica Rabbit and that's only because I want to see if I can make her eyes bulge out. and with this system I could probably make a lot of things on her bulge out!

Easy to understand and operate, easy connection of components

I live in an aptartment building and would be disrespecting my neighbors if I turned up my system beyond half way
