Better than expected.

I bought the RXA-660 to replace a Sony STR-DA5200ES now that I wanted to move towards HDMI audio, 4k etc. I was dubious as I'd had one attempt at replacing that amp with a cheaper Sony model a couple of years ago and wasn't pleased with the result...

Big step up from RXV 377

Big step up in sound from RXV 377. Hearing things in soundtracks I hadn't heard before. Seems to have given my bluejays a new lease of life. Excellent advice and service from Freddy

Recommended purchase

Power saving is great, it senses when tv is in standby and mirrors this. We get sound through the amp when using tv aps which our old solution used the tv speakers. Connectivity seems less than some amps however I don't have anything else to plug in...

Good all rounder

Had to replacey onkyo tx-r607 which packed up. Didn't realise how good was the onkyo until I started looking. Yamaha had less connectivity and generally did the same job. Sound a step up but that's all.

Excellent sound quality for my location.

Easy to install. Easy to get up and running. Looks good when turning on. Sound quality is mind blowing.

Wish I'd upgraded sooner

The sales guy (William) was brilliant. I intended just to buy a direct replacement unit but when I explained some problems I was having, he showed me this unit. Its awesome. the connectivity is brilliant with all my HDMI signals now passing through it...

hdmi connectivity , auto set up , sound quality , ease of use

app doesnt run on iphone , selecting the input from the remote is not easy

Great first step in Aventage range

Big upgrade form my Yamaha RXV573. Bigger and bolder sound, Dolby atmos and dts-x on board. Worth every penny.
