Absolute garbage (Awful distortion)

I'm not sure who the intended consumer for this would be. Typically, people who listen with two-channel systems are looking for quality, while people who are looking for features in their electronics (and not necessarily precision or sound quality) are...

Has some basic tone controls and you can plug a decent number of sources in

I tried using this to drive a pair of sensitive speakers (95db) and even at medium-high volume, it starts to distort unreasonably. It actually sounds worlds worse than a no-name 50w power amp I had been using prior. Turned up any louder, and it's the...

Not sure if I believe 100w

I use this to power my Definitive Technology StudioMonitor 350s for my computer, which means that they're much closer to me than they'd be for a typical stereo or home theater setup. Even when played loudly for this range, there is significant...

Clean at low volumes, and a nice basic set of features. I didn't want a lot of features, so that's positive for me

Distortion comes fast and hard, like an ex-boyfriend. Even medium volume sees the treble start to shrill out, and it's just about impossible to jam out at all at high volumes, because the sound turns miserable and featureless. I'm decently certain that...

Great Amp for Keepin it Simple

After 20+ years of loyal service, my Nakamichi RE-1 died. I don't really care for home theaters, but needed to drive a Bose Acoustimass system and 4 pairs of in-wall Polks. I wired all of the speakers into the A jacks via a 6-way speaker selector &...

For $150 it's a solid little "SUV" for an old-time receiver replacement. No tech on the inside = no tech problems. No need to "configure" any bull droppings. Easier to run than an ipod. Just hook up your speakers & away you go

It's ugly, but who cares. It needs to get cranked up to fire up my Bose speakers adequately, but who cares. It's not worth my time to even bother with comparisons or details for something that costs less than a car tire

Good replacement for older receiver

Sounds and looks good, and has real turntable inputs.

A great replacement for our older Yamaha receiver that finally went after 25+ years. It has more inputs, a good remote, and sounds fine. Also has pretty good reception (though the fact that there are no AM presets allowed is odd). Haven't tried the...

I wondered if buying a receiver was too "old-school" for our cloud-based, streaming world, but as I already have the other components I went for it. I looked at AV receivers as well, and wondered if a 5.1 receiver would be a better investment, but...

Yamaha RS300 Receivers

The Yamaha R-S300 is a very old school but a very good performing receiver. By "old school", I mean that more functions can be done at the receiver instead of via the remote. Examples? 1) You cannot scan for radio stations with the remote. That has to...

Nice unit

Nice unit for a simple 2 channel system, rather old school if that is what you are looking for. Nice looking and performs as described.
