Worked to make happy

Never got. To hear it. Wherehouse shipped the wrong item. Newegg worked with me and took care of business. Made me very happy to see them go the extra mile to correct a problem

The receiver was one I was looking forward to hearing. Great electronics and a nice upgrade to the other yamaha receivers I have owned

Faulty Unit - HDMI Out Ports Broken

NewEgg's limited replacement warranty is charging me $55.01 to send the defective unit back to them to replace it! What a con. I have since emailed NewEgg asking them to take care of the shipping, as they had sent me a defective unit.

Manual and quality of product seemed to be decent

HDMI Out ; I have a Sony LCD projection TV. Model KDF-E60A20. I have tried all of the suggestions in the FAQ for this problem. The problem is intermittent. Sometimes you get a picture and sound, but most times you don’t. If you reach around to the...

Has its problems

If I had known how bad its FM reception is, I wouldn't have got it. I was going to install an outdoor HDTV/FM antenna anyway, which I hope helps, so won't return it. Don't see how they can mess up something as old and basic as FM sensitivity. It comes...

I guess it has great sound, I'm not an audiophile. Lots of output connections, both digital and analog, on the back. Internet Pandora and "Net Radio" give access to plenty of music and hundreds of pre-defined internet radio stations

Biggest is its lousy FM/HD reception. I bought this in large part because it adverted HD reception, but its sensitivity for FM/HD is way worse than the 35-year old Onkyo receiver it replaced (both using their indoor FM wire antenna). Apparently this is...

A Lot of Bang for the Buck

This unit is a million times better than my previous unit that I paid considerably more for. So as not to bad mouth the other brand, it will remain unnamed, suffice it to say the brand name rhymes with lenon. My previous resiver never sounded nearly as...

Excellent sound quality, easy to set up and use, looks great in my entertainment center, awesome features for the price ; I Love the onscreen GUI and volume control overlay. It was a cinch to hook this up to my Plasm TV, HTPC< DVR and PS3. I love...

There really are no cons to speak of. I guess one minor nit might be the fact that I don't see a way to order Pandora stations alphabetically like I can on the internet UI for Pandora, but that is really a very minor inconvenience

YAMAHA RX-A1000 7.2-Channel Home Theater Receiver

The long list of features for this receiver is truly impressive. I like how HDMI simplifies the hook up of components and helps to eliminate the rats nest of cables. I like MP3 playback from a USB flash drive and Internet functionality. HD radio is...

There is only 1 recording output. Admittedly this affects primarily legacy components but in my setup I'm having to scramble. There are many more physical input connections than can be individually addressed by the equipment. This required a...

Great receiver

With the deal Newegg had on this unit when I picked it up, there is no competition anywhere. Its my first Yamaha and I love it.

Great power, Great Sound quality, YPAO is far better than the Audyssey software I have had in my numerous Onkyo units, looks great

Wish it had discrete .2 sub outs

is it worth the money?

they don't make them like they used to, i guess you can't have everything. all other features seem to work okay. can't comment on networking, because i don't use windows media player at all!

lots of features. plays flac files, along with mp3's among others. internet radio. sounds decent after shutting off all the training wheel stuff, for music anyway

radio is non-functioning, pulls in 2 stations intermit that are less than 20 miles away. with same ant my old receiver pulled in enough to fill the 40 presets. doesn't read my usb drives over 8gb

Updated Sirius bug

Purchased to replace an older Yamaha receiver that worked well but had limited functionality. The RX-A1000 offers the functionality to easyily connect other components and has internet connectivity. With all the HDMI inputs I can now switch the cable...

Originally there was a bug with the Sirius IR but was resolved by Sirius

Sirius Internet Radio Bug

Yamaha should have corrected this prior to putting this product on the market. Don't see how they can blame Sirius when it works through a computer or an iPhone/iTouch. Would have given 5 eggs but the Sirius IR was a big seller for me. I have the...

I was initially very happy with set up, functionality and sound but there appears to be a flaw with the Sirius Internet radio (IR) that is common to this model

Even though i can get all Sirius IR stations through a separate computer and iTouch, I was only able to get one station with the Yamaha receiver. This was also verified by Yamaha Tech support on the unit in their lab. Yamaha points the finger at Sirius
