Bad

Update: Since my last post I have called there service number which was a waste of time. They said they had never heard of the problems I had been having but apparently there remotes are using the same frequency as other remotes ie tv,vcr/dvd,stereo's...

The only pro is it found every channel

Terrible

I bought this product based on Big W And AWA good name. My trust was misplaced. Never again will I trust brands based on previous quality. Jp

Good legacy brand.Nice designed box.

Does not work as advertised. Faulty remote with most functions NOT working,,freezes constantly, cannot enter setup or any other menu.Cannot scan for new TV channels . A real dud

Terrible

Never again will I fall for your con, poor customer service when you call the help line I think it is a bad product and a bad company never again never.

not much at the moment

no power cord in the box and it was brought for a birthday present hows that very disapionted with the service I dont think that I would buy another awa product again........ usless

Received the following from AWA Help Centre; [start] What needs to be done is to reset and retune. Please go to menu, select last item on 1st page ”system settings”, scroll down to it and select, then go down to last item on next page and select...

Good

Not a bad unit, fairly easy to drive ... the EPG lets it down though ... no real support that I can find ...

I found that it was fairly easy to set up and found all the stations

The EPG (Electronic Program Guide) causes the unit to lock up on most occasions ... the software is supposed to be upgradeable but have not been able to find a site for it ... typical of this sort of equipment, no real support.

Good

Recently had a problem with menu not coming up, like in other comments. Press the RES button on the Remote and wait for it to change. Chances are this will fix the problem.

Works really good, once you work it out. Service is helpful. Need to go on the Internet, [url censored] and find local contact contact.

For people not used to the technoligy it can be a bit troublesome. Need to realise there other issues with Digital, like signal drop out that has nothing to do with the set top box

Terrible

It's a DUB. Don't buy this product. Might appear to be good brand name and great price, but it not. Save your money.

didn't work. Only got SBS or ABC stations. Unable to do manual channel scan.

Excellent

A Chrissie '09 pressie for my elderly folks to receive digital channels on their 2005 AWA LCD TV which has no HDMI port. They don't care about the locking up of the EPG/scheduling...etc, so for the picture/sound quality it does the job well, a bargain...

Easy to use, scans and picks ups TV signal well even for a 70's roof aerial :) Working on AV1 channel and using RWY/RCA plugs for composite video. The STB unit even comes with optical and HDMI ports.

Poor User Manual if you aren't too techy. Locks up when using On-screen program guide, requires you to switch to standby then back ON to unlock.

Terrible

Purchased this as a Xmas present for an elderly lady. Went to install the channels, installed OK in auto mode however no matter what you do you cannot delete the unwanted channels and you can't use the buttons on the remote to select the channel. No...

Seems to do what it is supposed to, cheap, looks OK and looks good !!! HOWEVER see cons

Extremely poor user manual. Unable to do a manual station scan, unable to delete unwanted channels. Service person at AWA Telefix had no idea how to fix the problem telling me to do a manual scan yet the unit won't let you do a manual scan. AWA Telefix...

Good

Very happy with device. No problems with user guide, could be a bit more detailed for novice users. Cannot believe the number of negative reports. Maybe a bad batch or overheating.

Easy to use. Found 22 TV channels + 4 audio. Very good analog output, now getting excellent picture on all channels on old TV.

Sometimes locks up when using On-screen program guide. Need to switch to standby then back on to unlock. Seems to get confused when getting schedule from TV station. Had similar problem with a set top box in the UK.
