Garmin Fenix multisport GPS watches

Garmin Fēnix 5 series - Multisport GPS wearables : Garmin recently announced the fēnix 5, fēnix 5S and fēnix 5X, adding three watches designed with adventurers of all sizes in mind to its popular line of multisport GPS wearables. The Garmin fēnix 5S is...

The first fēnix designed with a focus on female adventurers, the fēnix 5S is a sleek, smaller-sized watch. At 42mm, fēnix 5S is small and comfortable for petite wrists, without compromising any multisport features. Both stylish and functional, fēnix 5S...

Garmin Fenix Performer Bundle

Garmin's fenix rises from the pack with hiking and sports features that are unique for a GPS watch.

Up to 50 hours of GPS usage in UltraTrac mode ; Compatible with ANT+ sensors ; PC or smartphone data upload and download

Expensive ; No facility to add topographic maps ; Chunky

The Garmin fenix is packed with useful functions for the serious hiker or mountaineer, although it does have a major drawback – its price. At £349 for the watch on its own, or an extra £30 for the Performer Bundle, it’s more expensive than any of...

Garmin fenix review

A smart watch for the outdoors that's as easy as ABC

Breadth of data ; Excellent build quality ; Long battery life ; BaseCamp app

Expensive ; Locating satellites is slow ; On-watch maps are poor ; No touchscreen

Buying guide20 best mobile phones in the world today Unlike most so-called smart watches, the Garmin fēnix integrates with all the main platforms - from iOS and Android to Mac and Windows - though that integration is, of course, rather limited.

Garmin Fenix

If you want OS mapping on your GPS, the Fenix is a non-starter, but for easy to use, portable tracking and basic navigation of pre-loaded routes it's brilliant and has the huge advantage of being on your wrist, so it's alway available.

Easy to adapt screen layouts on the move. Can tranfer routesby connecting via wireless to othe Garmin devices

Brilliant for a long day out with a pre-planned route.Good for recording tracks if you walk more freely without pre-planning.

Great size ; You can replace the small basemap with a bit of work via the internet. I now have a topo map of Dartmoor on mine. This is lmited by the available memory on the watch

My watch has misted up in extreme cold, but it eventually clears. Currently there are no options via Garmin to replace the basemap with topo maps for National Parks or Long distance trails. This could be a big bonus to outdoor use

Great watch

I sold my ambit one watch to buy the fenix as I was a little put out by sunnto not doing any more updates on ambit one. I am very glad I did as I wanted a outdoor watch that I could use for running as well. Lots of reviews and comparing the ambit2 vs...

GPS altitude, looks like a watch barometer works very well

Wish I could set the watch up on a PC, can sometimes take a while to pick up satellites

Brilliant bit of gear

Mainly bought this because of the GPS function, but a bonus is the large time display that I can read without glasses, unlike my G Shock. The functionality of this thing is brilliant and far better than you would expect with a watch-sized GPS. The...
