Pebble Time Steel review: Battery life overdrive

Pebble's new smartwatch lasts up to 10 days on a charge, and its all-steel design is solid and durable. But is it worth the premium over the regular Time?

Solid, all-steel construction; boosted battery life should last over a week; 30 meters water resistant; always-on display; works with iPhone and Android phones.

Design doesn't look much different than the less-expensive non-steel Pebble Time; can't make phone calls; fitness tracking is less accurate than rival wearables.

Pebble's step-up all-steel smartwatch has added battery life and a more durable feel, but it's basically a tiny upgrade to the less expensive Pebble Time.

Pebble Time Steel ( Gold with Red Leather Band)

After living my spring and most of the summer with the Apple Watch , I've gotten into a routine with watch-charging, taking it off my wrist each night. But I like to keep my watch on all the time. That's the biggest advantage Pebble watches have over...

Review: Pebble Time Steel

The Pebble Time Steel could be the perfect mix of style and utility – we take it for a spin.

Characterful ; Week-long battery life ; Plenty of useful features

Getting pricey ; Huge bezel/tiny screen ; Lacks apps

Pebble adds a layer of style to its brilliant pioneering smartwatch, but its price brings it up to the level of smarter watches with which it struggles to compete in terms of apps, screen size and resolution. But it is a clear winner for...

Pebble Time Steel Review: Too Little Too Late

Android users have a more difficult choice. Pebble works better with Android than it does with iPhone, so it’s harder to choose between the Pebble Time Steel and Android Wear smart watches. The Pebble Time Steel, especially in gold, looks better than...

Pebble Time Steel Review

Although it doesn't do as many things as the Apple Watch or Android Wear watches, the $249 Pebble Time Steel is a formidable competitor. Its stylish design, intuitive Timeline interface and long battery life make it a reliable wrist-worn assistant. The...

Sophisticated design ; Always-on display ; Long battery life

Cannot reply to notifications from watch ; Microphone functionality limited

The $249 Pebble Time Steel is the company's most luxurious smartwatch to date, but it's a better choice for Android users.

Pebble Time Steel Review: Still Quietly Beautiful

The original Pebble Steel was a great smartwatch in a surprisingly fashionable costume. Its successor, the Time Steel, keeps the sex appeal but crams more brains inside.

Pebble Time Steel

The Pebble Time Steel is a more luxurious version of the Pebble Time, the watch launched via a record-breaking Kickstarter project. It packs in the same features and specs as the original, but adds a stainless-steel watch face and an impressive 10-day...

Notifications delivered in a really useful way ; Waterproof design means you can take it swimming ; More luxurious stainless steel watch face

Has a thicker screen bezel than the Pebble Time ; Leather strap is most unattractive of the strap options ; Still needs some better watch faces

Improved looks and a better battery life put the Pebble Time Steel slightly ahead of the Pebble Time. However, it's too expensive for what's on offer.

Pebble Time Steel review: Does some added metal improve the Pebble experience?

Feels more premium, costs more, but is it worth it?

Class leading battery life ; Comfortable strap ; Premium feel

Large bezel remains ; Lost charm of original model

Pebble Time Steel review: Steel-ing the smartwatch limelight?

When the Pebble Time Steel was first released, we decided to give our first impressions rather than rush into a full review straight away. There were a couple of reasons for this: firstly, we had not long before reviewed the Pebble Time and save for...

Gives an average of seven-days battery life per charge, iPhone and Android connectivity, solid design, full-colour screen is always-on, simple to use, waterproof to 30-metres

No touchscreen, not as vibrant as rivals, not as many apps as Android Wear or Apple Watch

There are some who won't be as enamoured with the Pebble Time Steel as we are and that's fine: there are plenty of alternatives in the shape of Android Wear devices, Samsung rivals or the Apple Watch, and many are around the same price.
