Anker SoundCore Boost review: A wireless speaker that bumps the bass

Toward the high-end for Anker but still affordable, the SoundCore Boost mini Bluetooth speaker gives the JBL Flip 4 a run for its money.

The Anker SoundCore Boost delivers strong sound for its size, has decent battery life and is splash-resistant. There's a USB out for charging devices and a built-in microphone for speakerphone calls.

Design is somewhat generic.

While it doesn't have as cool a design as some competitors in this size and price class, the Anker SoundCore Boost delivers excellent sound..

Anker SoundCore Boost Bluetooth speaker review: This little box delivers more thump than you'd think

For the price, this 12-hour box sounds very good. It has the punch that many speakers in its class lack, as well as a surprising amount of thump.

Excellent sound and bass for the price ; Small form factor and good battery life

Stunted and mudded midrange at higher volume levels

For pure sound, the SoundCore Boost is definitely among the best IPX5 water-resistant speakers I’ve heard—especially at lower volume. For the price, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better speaker. I’d go so far as to call it a bargain.

Anker SoundCore Boost Bluetooth speaker Review

While Anker may not be the most prominent name in audio technology, they've drawn comparisons to heavy-hitters like Bose and JBL. Today, we take a look at their SoundCore Boost 20-Watt Bluetooth speaker to see if these comparisons are warranted, or...

Sound is loud, clear, and well-balanced ; Maintains composure at highest volume ; Compact, classy design can suit any situation ; IPX5 waterproofing ; Battery to last and to charge

Loses some bass at higher volumes ; Lack of full waterproofing can make the JBL Flip a tempting alternative for some ; Speakerphone’s echoing issue renders it essentially useless ; Minor miscellaneous software quirks

Anker SoundCore Boost Review: Big Bass for a Bargain

At $79, Anker's SoundCore Boost occupies a middle ground between the masses of cheap Bluetooth speakers that cost less than $50 and the plethora of models that cost about $100. For the money, it delivers good sound and decent battery life. It produces...

Booming bass ; Clear vocals

Weak treble ; Poor speakerphone

The Anker SoundCore Boost delivers big bass and good overall sound — though you can get better sound and ruggedness for just a bit more money.

Anker SoundCore Boost review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Anker SoundCore Boost is the higher cost sister to the Anker SoundCore 2 wireless speaker, promising bigger sound and NFC support, not to mention a much more subtle Anker logo. So is this speaker worth the extra money? We give you what you need to...
