Boston Acoustics i-DS3 plus iPod Speaker System review

We've never been disappointed with the sound quality coming from a Boston Acoustics iPod speaker as the company provides some of the best-sounding iPod devices out there. That said, these products still leave us wanting more. Unfortunately, the iDS3 is...

Great sound quality; included remote; auxiliary in; video out (for iPods); replaceable grille; powerful wireless subwoofer.

Expensive; small feature set; no clock; no AM/FM radio.

The Boston Acoustics iDS3 is a bit low on features but high on performance and sound quality.

Boston Acoustics i-DS3 Plus

Let's get this out of the way immediately: To most people, $499 is a ridiculous sum to spend on an iPod dock. Boston Acoustics' i-DS3 Plus does, however, come equipped with a wireless subwoofer that helps the system produce fantastic audio output. The...

Excellent audio output. Simple, attractive design. Wireless subwoofer. Outputs for iPod video-watching. Shielded from iPhone "GSM buzz

Very expensive. Remote is limited

Although the remote control that comes with this iPod dock is a disappointment, everything else about the Boston Acoustics i-DS3 Plus is excellentespecially its powerful-yet-clear audio performance.

Review Of The Boston Acoustics i-DS3 Plus iPod Speaker System

Installing the iDS3 was a no- brainer. The ipod was easily able to sync  with  the iDS3. the remote of the Boston was sleek and easy to navigate. There aren't many functions provided on it, but it serves the basic purpose of play/ pause like functions....

Mind-blowing sound quality; wireless sub-woofer; shipped with a remote; optional grilles available at $15

So-so design; highly priced; the AM/FM tuner and the clock absent

The boston acoustic iDS3 brings out the best in the ipod and iphone tunes. It privdes a live and dynamic sound that enhances your entire listening experience. The only downfall is the ratio of the feature to price list. But then again adding a clock...

Review: Boston Acoustics i-DS3 Plus

What i-DS3 Plus offers users is a mirror of the iPod and iPhone sales pitch: an extremely clean industrial design that hides smart internal components. The base of the system is a unified dock, amplifier, and speaker system that is roughly 15.5 inches...

Overall, expensive iPod and iPhone audio systems have more to prove than the numerous more affordable ones on the market, and i-DS3 Plus's $499 price tag will certainly scare some potential buyers away from even giving it a listen. Yet its combined...

I wasn't very familiar with the Boston Acoustic brand. But now since I have received the system, it is the most amazing thing ever. The sound quality is great and very loud. The base has overpowering sound. Overall this sound system might be better...
