Eclipse TD510 Mk2 & TD520SW

Eclipse has been busting out beautiful egg-shaped speakers for years now, all featuring just a single full-range driver per cabinet. So no separate tweeter and mid/bass drivers – just one cone working all the frequencies.

A 2.1 system of the very highest quality, and almost unbeatable in a number of respects.

Eclipse TD 510 review

These Eclipses aren't for everyone - they're unconventional in just about every way

Exceptional in terms of speed, dynamics and stereo imaging ; great detail resolution ; superb build and finish qualities

Fussy in the extreme about positioning and partnering kit ; tonal balance isn’t particularly even

Eclipse walks a lonely path when it comes to speaker design, but the new TD510s are brilliant in many areas

Eclipse TD510 review

They look like alien eggs, but can they deliver a sound that's out of this world?

An oddball design and difficult temperament mean the TD510s aren't for everyone but pay dividends to those who persist

Eclipse TD510 review

Time Domain accuracy is the obsession behind this stylish speaker

Wonderful coherence with voices in particular ; Superior intelligibility even at very low listening levels ; Real sense of realism and tangibility

Tonal balance anomalies include a too-strong upper midband and lack of top end 'air' ; Can sound rather fierce if volume is turned up

Striking looking speakers are beautifully made. Sonically, a bit of a mixed bag: exceptional voice band coherence and superb stereo imaging must be set against tonal balance anomalies that include upper mid forwardness and some lack of 'air'

Eclipse TD510 Mk2 Standmount Speaker Review

Can you really produce a convincing full range performance from a single, relatively small driver? Eclipse thinks you can and the TD510Mk2 is here to strut its stuff.

Outstanding timing, cohesion and imagery ; Beautifully made ; Striking looks

Narrow performance envelope ; Demanding on partnering equipment
