KEF KHT-5005.2 review: KEF KHT-5005.2

KEF KHT-5005.2

Sleek aluminum satellite speakers use unique driver technology to produce incredible clarity; three drivers per speaker; compact, donut-shaped, dual 10-inch, 250-watt powered subwoofer; table and wall mounts included; floor stands are available.

Expensive; can't rock out or deliver home theater fury on the same level as a full-size speaker system.

KEF's KHT-5005.2 is one of the few surround speaker packages to coax audiophile sound from lifestyle-friendly speakers and a subwoofer.

KEF KHT 5005.2 Wireless Speaker System Reviewed

These attractive speakers have several mounting options and can adapt to any room. Our reviewer noted "this system is capable of very high volume output that seems incomprehensible given the driver's size, but this ability makes it a great choice for...

Attractive styling and flexible mountingoptions make this system adaptable to almost any room. Optional floorand table stands and even a wireless system further enhance theflexibility of this system ; This system is capable of very highvolume output...

The small size of the drivers will of course be limited by physics and, at extreme output, the sound will compress, affecting the sound quality ; If you go with the wireless option, you will still need to run power to the speakers

The KEF KHT 5005.2 offers amazingly full sound and sonic output in a complete package for a reasonable price. The use of identical speakers all around makes for perfect transitions and the included subwoofer is small but powerful and mates extremely...

Ultimate AV: KEF KHT 5005.2 Wireless Surround Speaker System with Wireless 5000 Series Option

Spending a lazy summer afternoon running wires around the room to hook up a 5.1-channel speaker system is not a favorite family activity. Polls have shown, in fact, that most consumers who buy home-theater-in-a-box systems never even hook up the...

Solid soundstage, Highly detailed, Compact size, Wireless surrounds operate flawlessly

Bass (from low to upper bass) from HTB2 tended to be over-ripe and "slow", Unforgiving of bright material ; treble can sometimes be too obvious, Available loudness level is generous for a small-medium size rooms, but more limited than from many larger,...

KEF KHT5005.2 review

Despite its smooth looks, this KEF lacks excitement compared to its nearest and most competitively priced rivals

Tall, slimline design is stylish and flexible ; decent integration ; always-cohesive surround sound

Lacks excitement, punch and power ; flabby bass

We thought we’d like the style, and we do – it’s the sound that leaves us a bit cold
