Beats by Dr. Dre Beatbox review: Beats by Dr. Dre Beatbox

Beats by Dr. Dre Beatbox

Compact iPod/iPhone stereo system that delivers big sound; able to fill large rooms; edgy industrial design with minimalist styling; solid construction; big bass; convenient carrying handle.

No extra features; bass will rattle nearby objects; fairly pricey; wireless module is an optional accessory (with no specific price or due date); no battery option.

The Monster Beatbox may not deliver the most refined sonics, but if you're looking for big, aggressive sound from a small box, this is the one you want.

Monster Beatbox iPod Dock Review

Bringing da house down

Extremely loud, awesome quality

Remote isn't that great, no on unit controls and pricey

The Beatbox features a digital power amp that powers two 5.25 inch long throw bass drivers and two concave 2 inch high frequency drivers to deliver audio. Monster suggests that you keep the unit flat on a surface, however, if you are planning on...

Monster and Beats by Dr. Dre Beatbox Review

When Monster and beats by dr. dre first announced the Beatbox, we initially said it will probably sound like Dr. Dre is screaming in your face. Well from the time we have spent with the Beatbox, that is in fact what it sounds like. The Beatbox iPod...

Excellent bass reproduction for any music genre. Designed to fit in any room with its corner design. Fills a room with music. Really shines when you play with your iPhone/iPod set to optimum equalizer settings. The active wireless module probably means...

Pricey. Front grille easily bends when you push it. No mini to mini stereo cable included. No app. Remote control is less than impressive. Improper placement of the device in a room can hinder the sound experience coming from the Beatbox

Beatbox by beats by dr. dre and Monster is just another example of how seriously these companies are about improving the experience of listening to music. They have thought about all the important details while creating their first iPod dock – it...

Beats by Dr. Dre Beatbox review

The good Dr. Dre ventures from headphones to speaker docks – it's a beefy system but the harsh treble is a definite turn-off

Expansive soundstage ; big, ballsy midrange ; hefty bass

Bass doesn’t integrate particularly well ; ridiculously brash and aggressive treble

We like some elements of the sound, but the treble is just so unlistenably nasty

Monster Beats by Dr Dre Beatbox iPod Dock

The Monster Beats by Dr Dre Beatbox iPod Dock is a high-end dock that's best suited to lovers of urban grooves — and best disregarded by the rest.

Well made ; Plenty loud ; Music has plenty of presence ; Great for dance and hip-hop fans

but bad for everyone else ; Grille feels flimsy ; Mid-range is recessed ; Volume control is funky ; No battery option

If you're looking for a party machine, they don't come as sharply focused as the Beatbox. The brand trades on its street cred mostly successfully, and it will play very loudly. While it fits quite well into its chosen market, it certainly won't quell...

Monster Beats By Dr.Dre Beatbox review

Dumps your tunes with the power, precision and finesse of a bulldozer – great!

There’s little sophistication here but the Beatbox partly compensates with its awesome raw power

Beats by Dr. Dre Beatbox iPod Speaker Dock

The Beatbox demonstrates a self-contained, trapezoidal form allowing it to be placed in the corner of a room. The housing features an unobtrusive black-in-black colour scheme. The top surface is coated with a soft-touch finish, while the speaker grille...

Monster Beats by Dr Dre Beatbox

The new Beats by Dr Dre Beatbox from Monster gets a good going over…..

Overall, the audio quality sounded really ‘alive’ to us whilst listening to contemporary music and if you listen to hip hop, dance music, modern rock or any other kind of digitised music, there isn’t much to complain about at all.

Decent, But There's Better...

It's a decent system, but the IK501 from Kicker is a better quality dock of the same size for a lesser price (with an equalizer). With the Beatbox, it's obvious that you're paying for the name. The Kicker system is about $100 less and doesn't blow...

BIG sound from a small dock. Powerful bass. Handles most genres of music very well.

$400 price tag. (That's just silly.) Speakers blow way too easily. No equalizer. You get a dock, a power button and a volume control. Weak tweeters.
