Razer Mako

The 2.1 Mako speaker system delivers clear, thunderous sound, but it comes at a price.

Intriguing design. Very powerful output. Booming low end. Excellent clarity without distortion at high volumes. Multiple inputsincluding one on controller.

Very expensive. Wired controller can be slow and unresponsive. Limited listening "sweet spot."

Razer's Mako 2.1 computer speaker system was codesigned with THX, featuring technology that uses desktop surfaces to disperse sound. The result is impressive power and clear, pleasing audio.

Razor Mako 2.1 Advanced Desktop Audio System

This pricey two-speaker system sounds as good as some 5.1 speaker kits.

Solid sound reproduction, Good surround sound virtualization

No optical inputs, Hogs up desktop space

And it sounds almost as good. For fashion-forward audiophiles, it's well worth the money. But you might want to clear out your cluttered desktop and shag carpeting first

Razer Mako 2.1 Speaker System

You'll find the THX logo stamped on a host of products, but Razer's Mako is the first consumer speaker system that THX—led by THX Chief Scientist Laurie Fincham—has designed from the ground up.

Fabulous subwoofer, super-clean amp, intriguing industrial design

Amp isn't loud enough for large rooms; steep price/performance ratio

As much as we like the Mako’s style, subwoofer, and wide sound stage, the system as a whole can’t dislodge the sub-less Audioengine 5 from its roost on our Best of the Best list.

Razer Mako 2.1 PC Sound System Review

Multi-channel audio has long since been implemented in current PC titles, but few users can afford the money and space of incorporating a 5.1 channel ...

But any frustrations incurred by the limited inputs will be quickly forgotten once users fire up the Mako's THX certified speakers. As we previously noted, the Mako's satellites and sub are downward firing, which bounces the audio off of the surface of...

Razer Mako 2.1 THX Certified Multimedia System

Razer and THX have teamed up together to design the Razer Mako 2.1 THX Certified Multimedia System. This sound system offers OmniDirectional speakers which fill the entire room with surround sound. The Mako comes equipped with an all-in-one touch...

Superb sound quality, - Perfect for many sound uses, even for the non audiophile, - THX Certified, - High-end ClassHD digital amplifier, - OmniDirectional soundstage

Bass quality reduced on carpet, - Touch sensitive control pod not so sensitive

The Razer Mako 2.1 THX Certified Multimedia System is overall a great system. It supplies top notch sound quality across the entire room while still only being a 2.1 sound system. Even though through Razer the price is a hefty $399.99 I still think it...

Razer Mako 2.1 Speaker System

UFO-like speakers!

Funky design, nice bass, good sound quality, immersive audio

Expensive, wired remote that operates poorly

The Mako speaker package from Razer surprised us a little, providing excellent if slightly bass-heavy audio and a sleek design. However the price tag is quite high and the remote can be painful to use, both of which may turn off some users.

Razer Mako 2.1 Gaming Speakers

A sturdy, futuristic looking speaker system that's especially good for gaming, but the price tag is daunting.

Now for a reality check: the Mako costs Rs 22,350. This means it's targeted at high-end gamers with deep pockets. But as any serious PC gamer knows, quality stuff doesn't come cheap, and the Mako is definitely a great option for gaming audio bliss....
