Sony SRS-X3 (white)

I'm a fan of the step-up SRS-X5 , which retails for $50 more and performs better (when plugged in anyway) but it's almost twice the X3's size. This model seems designed to compete with the Bose SoundLink Mini and delivers big sound for its compact...

The Sony SRS-X3 is elegantly designed mini Bluetooth speaker that delivers strong sound for its small size. It has a built-in speakerphone capabilities, NFC tap-to-pair technology for smartphones that support it, and reasonably good 7-hour battery life.

Can distort slightly when played at at high volumes; no carrying case included.

With comparably good sound for its size and the addition of speakerphone features, the Sony SRS-X3 mini Bluetooth speaker measures up well against the pricier Bose SoundLink Mini.

Sony SRS-X3: A worthy contender to the Bose SoundLink Mini

Sony's mini Bluetooth speaker may not quite best the Bose's SoundLink Mini, but it sounds quite good for its size, costs less, and adds speakerphone capabilities.

Sony SRS-X3

The Sony SRS-X3 Bluetooth speaker delivers a lot of power for its size, but sounds best when you keep the volume dialed halfway.

Lots of power for the price and size. Sleek, minimal design. NFC and speakerphone support.

Lacks bass and can distort at top volume.

Performance and Conclusions The SRS-X3 is home to two 10-watt, 1.3-inch drivers, and two passive radiators—one in the front and one in the back. It gets just as loud as the Braven BRV-X , but on tracks with heavy sub-bass content, like The Knife's...

Sony SRS-X3

Big, bassy and beautiful, but its tonal balance won't be for everyone

Big, weighty sound ; Wide soundstage ; Well made ; Goes loud ; Good outdoors

Bass bias won’t be for everyone ; Midrange clarity could be better ; Pricey

The Sony SRS-X3 is a hugely confident performer that certainly deserves consideration when buying any product of this type.

Sony SRS-X3 review

Boom goes Sony's dynamite portable speaker

Neat, portable design ; Good range of features ; Punchy, weighty sound

Could be more rugged ; Bass can be too much

Hopless unreliable and a pain

These little speakers have a good sound but and it is a big but the bluetooth connection is so flaky that you have to set it up everytime you restart your computer. Most of the time only one side of the stereo works and you have to reset up, restart...

Good sound

difficult to set up keeps dropping blue tooth

The Bass and depth of sound is Incredible!

This product makes a surprising amount of sound for its size. High Quality Bass which speakers of this size should not be making, it really is extraordinary.

Consumer review (cnet.com)

Very Good -Not Perfect- But better than most competitors

In general, I am a careful buyer of technology. Same in this case. I compared Bose (Various Sound Links), Beats, Logitech, Marley and Philips products in the store at Futureshop and read reviews on line (best being CNET of course). I am very pleased...

Clarity of sound. Quality for price-point. Size and solidity. Quick start up.

Bass very good at low/mid/midhigh volumes, less so at high/very high volume.
