Acer Chromebook Tab 10

As the world's first Chrome-powered tablet, the Acer Chromebook Tab 10 offers Google Expeditions support and other intriguing features for elementary school students, but its full potential hinges on some future updates.

Supports IT remote-management features and Google Expeditions. Durable. Comes with integrated stylus.

Sluggish. Using Chrome OS without a keyboard presents some problems. AR functionality is not yet ready.

Bottom Line: As the world's first Chrome-powered tablet, the Acer Chromebook Tab 10 offers Google Expeditions support and other intriguing features for elementary school students, but its full potential hinges on some future updates.

Acer says 'come at me, bro' to Apple with Chromebook Tab 10

The 9.7-inch tablet is the world's first for the education market to run Chrome OS. And likely won't be the last.

Acer Chromebook Tab 10 review: stay in school | AndroidPIT

Acer offers something so far unique in the computing world: a tablet running ChromeOS instead of the more obvious Android. Initially intended for the educational market, this device shows so far what is possible with ChromeOS on a mobile device. But is...

Ultimately, while the world's first ChromeOS tablet is interesting and no doubt a welcome addition to the classroom, I can't say it's particularly convincing for a consumer purchase. The integration of ChromeOS onto a touchscreen in tablet format still...

Acer Chromebook Tab 10 Review - Liliputing

The Acer Chromebook Tab 10 is the first Chrome OS tablet to ship without a keyboard. It has a 9.7 inch, 2048 x 1536 pixel touchscreen display, a pen that tucks away into a slot in the side of the tablet when you're not using it, and a version of...

Normally this is where I’d talk about whether this is a tablet you should buy. But if you’re not an educator, Acer isn’t really trying to get you to buy this tablet.

Acer Chromebook Tab 10 review: Chrome OS revives Google’s tablet future

Acer made a capable tablet, but Google still has to work out kinks in Chrome OS.

Simple yet functional design. ; Included Wacom stylus requires no pairing or charging. ; USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port supports charging, data transfer, and external displays. ; Android apps that have been optimized for Chrome work quite well.

Doesn't come with a Bluetooth keyboard. ; No real-time handwriting-to-text translation in text boxes. ; Some Android apps still have sizing/orientation issues on large-screened Chrome OS devices.

Both Acer's and Google's work on the Chromebook Tab 10 show that Chrome OS tablets can be great classroom tools. Acer made a friendly tablet that's lightweight and less slippery than others, and it features an attractive screen and a hidden stylus that...

Hands-on with the Acer Chromebook Tab 10

The is the first tablet tablet to ship with Chrome OS… but it's easy to think of this as an Android tablet that just happens to be able to run the desktop version of Google's chrome web browser.

I’d like to see Acer target the consumer market with a similar device… but I suspect we’ll have to see how the tablet is received in the education space before the company decides whether to do that.

Acer Chromebook Tab 10 Review | Trusted Reviews

The first Chrome OS tablet promises much but doesn't deliver. Better Chromebook and Android tablet options are already out there.

Sharp screen with good outdoor visibility ; Lightweight and luggable ; Stylus is fun to use

Poor performance overall ; Inability to install third-party keyboard apps ; Not great value

An underwhelming student-centric tablet that doesn’t meet expectations.

Acer Chromebook Tab 10 initial review: The first Chrome OS tablet

Acer Chromebook Tab 10 review: The first Chrome OS tablet is no iPad killer

Acer's Chromebook Tab 10 is a Chrome OS-powered tablet that's cheaper than Apple's iPad, but it's far from perfect

Cheaper than the entry-level iPad ; Bundled Wacom stylus ; Lengthy battery life

Display could be better ; Performance isn't as good as iPad ; Chrome OS needs work

It’s still early days with Chrome OS on touch-only devices, but Acer’s Chromebook Tab 10 fails to serve as a competent example that the operating system deserves a place inside a tablet. It simply isn’t as good as its iOS or Android-powered...
