Archos 28 Internet Tablet

The cell phone-sized Archos 28 Internet Tablet sure reminds us of an MP3 player, but its frustrating touch-screen is its biggest flaw no matter what you call it.

Inexpensive. Internet access with simple browser. Solid file support.

Very weak touch screen. Apps library is weak, confusing, and feels unfiltered. Charging battery can result in device crashing.

Archos 28 Internet Tablet

Can Android work on a media player with a 2.8in display?

Android 2.2 ; Good format support

Resistive touchscreen ; Low resolution ; Small display ; Poor app performance

These complaints extend to the Archos 28's controls, all of which are touch-sensitive, save for the power button that has been located oddly on the bottom-left corner of the device. Especially lamentable is the absence of a physical volume control,...

Cool on a budget

I had my doubts when I purchased this device. I hadn't had a hands on experience with Android yet, and over the years I have tried many hand-held mp4 players that haven't lived up to the product description. This product is different. I recommend...

Great battery life ; Compact/Highly portable ; Very Clear Screen ; Runs wide range of media formats ; Multi-tasking

Doesn't come with a wall charger, only a USB cable. This isn't a big deal, because you can pick up your own for cheap if you want one. Charges relatively fast on computer/USB ; Wireless a 'little' weak. Not a big deal given the price

10 days only?

network is fine, easy to use

I ordered this on 2/21 and it stopped working this afternoon 3/7. I was listening to a book this morning and couldn't to restart it this afternoon even I tried 2 laptops to recharge it. It's just dead and that's all

Good for the Money

I really like this as wireless music player and for streaming Internet radio. Like a tiny Swiss Army knife, the Archos 28 does a lot of things, but only the basic features shine in this unit. Not a substitute for a full size notebook PC.

Very small and handy - more than just an MP3 player

Tiny screen and weak wireless

Great Tablet

Was bought as a Christmas gift for my son, who is extremely happy with it. He did not know what to expect but has gotten a lot of enjoyment and usefullness out of the unit

Very nice features, OS stable

Ran into a problem with the screen, so far Newegg has made it fairly easy to replace the tablet

Pass on this one

If you are looking for a compact Internet/Android App/mp3 player this could be for you. If you are looking for a quality MP3 player, move on, the player on it is not real impressive. I bought it to replace my Sansa Fuze, not a replacement will look for...

Compact low cost Android. Internet & Apps, Customize EQ. Newegg delivered it next day on free 3 day shipping as usual

Not real happy with this, sluggish, screen to sensitive, not real stable, not having any luck right out of the box with it recognizing my playlist on sync. Sound quality is ok but should be higher for a $100. I wished I would have avoided this one!...

Its Pretty Good!

The price dropped after I bought it. I recommend getting the 32 since its haves a camera and more storage and I think it has more ram plus a bigger screen and more additional support. I recommend downloading Arctools 0.45 from applib.

Everything compacted. Similar to the Apple's. Feels pretty sturdy. Easy to use. I think 3gb of storage is good. It plays most media files. WIFI makes it so much easier to update firmwire releases. Almost all the good apps are free

Only have total of 3.18gb internal storage and like 250mb system storage. A bit laggy and over sensitive. The screen seems like cheap plastic. No speaker, but its just a PMP. Although it says you can play H264 and all the other formats after...

Android that is all that i bought this for. I love how i can get apps that cost money on the Apple appstore for free on the android market for example angry birds. I love the user friendly operating system i can adjust about anything in the settings....
