Asus Memo Pad 7 ME176C review: Assembly line

Of all the emerging Asian smart device manufacturers, Asus has easily one of the most diverse portfolios of devices around. From PadFone to Fonepad to Transformer Pad, the Taiwanese manufacturer provides a tablet for every market segment and user, with...

7" 800 x 1280 IPS LCD of 216ppi ; Intel Atom Z3745 chipset, 1GB of RAM ; Quad-core 1.86GHz processor ; Intel HD GPU based on Ivy Bridge ; Android 4.4.2 with Asus customizations ; 5MP back and 2MP front cameras ; microSD card support up to 64GB ;...

No cellular version ; Plastic build ; Low-res screen

When we heard that Asus was incorporating Intel's robust Atom Z3745 processor into its entry-level Memo Pad 7 droid, it was hard not to get excited. After all, it's the same processor that can power full-fledged Windows tablets, and at a competitive...

ASUS MeMO Pad 7 and 8 review: small, speedy tablets that cut a few corners

The MeMO Pad HD 7 was arguably the sleeper hit among small tablets in 2013. ASUS' device didn't have the speed of the Nexus 7 or the interface tricks of

Quick for the money ; Good battery life ; Simple, responsive interface

Low-resolution display ; Merely adequate cameras ; No HDMI video

The MeMO Pad 8 delivers a pretty big punch for a $200, 8-inch tablet -- just be aware that a few rivals offer sharper displays for similar cash.

Asus Memo Pad 7 LTE review

If you want to add a tablet to your data plan for as little money possible, the Asus Memo Pad 7 LTE is a good way to do it. Running on AT&T's network, the 7-inch tablet is free with a two-year contract, $8.75 per month over 20 monthly installments, or...

The Asus Memo Pad 7 LTE is an affordably priced tablet with 4G LTE capabilities. Performance is consistently smooth, and it has a microSD card slot.

The construction feels uninspired and plastic-y, as if it just arrived from 2011. Screen brightness is too dim for bright environments. It ships with just Android 4.4.

Though its build quality feels dated, the Asus Memo Pad 7 LTE provides a cheap no-frills Android experience with the perk of speedy Internet access on the go.

Asus MeMO Pad 7 LTE

As a run-of-the-mill budget tablet , the Memo Pad 7 LTE offers only the basics. Its design is undistinguished, and its specs are barely average. Yet for casual use, the simple slate still manages to satisfy. Performance is consistently smooth for most...

Asus's new 7-inch Memo Pad gives you Intel-powered Android on the cheap

The new generation of the Asus Memo Pad 7 feels better made than its predecessor and packs in an Intel processor, all at a bargain price tag.

Asus MeMO Pad 7 (2014) Review: Android on x86

The small form factor tablet market has gotten pretty crowded, particularly when it comes to budget models, and while the generally fantastic Google Nexus 7 can be had for around $215 nowadays, going below that usually involves some compromises. Today,...

Entry-level price for a generally quite capable tablet. Display quality is good, especially thanks to Splendid.

Bland design and software. Infrequent stability issues mar otherwise decent performance. Terrible camera.

The camera on a tablet, especially a budget tablet, isn’t a critical feature, and it’s clear that Asus has made compromises in this department to keep the costs as low as possible. This leaves the tablet with a disappointing array of cameras, which I...

ASUS MeMO Pad 7 ME176C 7-in Atom Z3745 Tablet Review - Bay Trail Meets Android

In many ways, the Google Nexus 7 has long been the standard of near perfection for an Android tablet. With a modest 7-inch screen, solid performance and low cost, the ASUS-built hardware has stood through one major revision as our top selection. Today...

I have to admit that my time with the ASUS MeMO Pad 7 (ME176C) has been short; shorter than I would have liked to offer a truly definitive take on this mobile platform. I prefer to take the time to work the tablet into my daily work and home routines....

Asus MeMO Pad 7 inch, $149 Android tablet review - Liliputing

If you can afford the Nexus 7, there’s absolutely no reason you should consider the cheaper model from Asus. But a penny saved is a penny earned, and if you really want to save $50, Asus has you covered with its latest tablet

Asus MeMO Pad 7 review

When good features go cheap

Great design ; Inexpensive ; Nice 'ZenUI' Android overlay

Sluggish when multitasking ; No flash

Asus' MeMO Pad 7 is best tablet for its $229 price. Asus has found ripe middle-ground with its Android overlay, the design is the kind you’ll want to flaunt and there are a tonne of features. The Nexus 7 is the budget tablet we recommend, but many will...

Asus Memo Pad 7

A Nexus 7 on the cheap with a powerful CPU

Simple but effective design ; New speedy Intel Bay Trail processor ; Runs a mostly standard version of Android

Screen resolution is too low ; Interface still a bit laggy despite fast processor ; Cameras are very basic

If you haven’t been spoilt by super high DPI displays yet, though, you may be very happy. You can even tailor the saturation and colour temperature of the Asus Memo Pad 7’s display to make it warmer or cooler to your preference.
