Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-840FHD

The Acer Iconia Tab 8's occasional buggy behavior and touch screen issues have a significant impact on its usability, and a washed-out display lets this full HD 8-inch tablet down.

Premium looks and feel. Full HD display.

Stubborn touch screen. Buggy. Washed-out colors during video playback. Excessive bloatware.

Conclusion It seems like you can't have it all when it comes to inexpensive full HD 8-inch tablets. The Acer Iconia Tab 8 has impressive multitasking performance for its $200 price, and its premium looks and feel sets it apart from the generic plastic...

Acer Iconia Tab 8 review

Budget tablets are known for their modest features and bargain prices, not their au courant designs. The Acer Iconia Tab 8 bucks the trend as a snazzy and slim slate with a starting retail price of $199. Availability outside of North America hasn't...

The Acer Iconia Tab 8 has a slim build and stylish aluminum back. It has a microSD card slot and a micro-HDMI port. Performance is smooth when switching between apps.

Large games and apps are sluggish to load. You can't uninstall most of the pre-loaded software.

The Acer Iconia Tab 8 has the design edge for budget slates, but you can find a faster performing tablet in the same price range.

Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-840FHD Tablet Review

It's a success. A quad-core SoC, Android 4.4.2, a Full HD display, and all that for only 200 Euros (~$256). The 8-inch Acer Iconia Tab 8 tablet offers a lot of good hardware at a low cost. As our review shows, what looks good on paper looks good in...

Aluminum back cover, High-quality manufacturing, Current version of Android (4.4.2), Display content looks very good, Current games run fluidly, Remains cool, Good battery life, Low price

Weak camera modules, Only 9 GB of available storage space, Battery cannot be switched out

Acer Iconia Tab 8 (2015)

There's a burgeoning market for small tablets from people who just don't need the sheer size on offer from 10in devices, and the latest Acer aims to corner this segment with a keen balance of price and performance, including quad-core power and a Full...

Full HD screen ; Quad-core Intel processor ; Plenty of ports and sockets

Poorer battery life than rivals ; Slightly slower performance ; Middling build quality

The tablet stopped charging within a few months. Acer honored the warranty but returned it twice without resolving the issue. Big disappointment in Acer products.
