Lenovo Yoga 2 review: Flexible and affordable

Laptops are not in a great state. Samsung and Sony have already announced their departure from the market altogether. The money's just not there anymore, and companies need to adapt to survive. Lenovo's Yoga series is this kind of evolution in action....

Decent display colour, light and portable, quiet, handy tilt mechanism, far more affordable than predecessor

Not very powerful, chunky and awkward as a tablet

Appreciating the Lenovo Yoga 2 11 is all about managing your expectations as it doesn’t offer the screen quality of a dedicated tablet or the battery life of a MacBook Air.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 review

The weight distribution is different when you switch into tablet mode, though, and the size and weight of the screen mean that you either need to rest it on your lap or use the tent option to prop it up on its own. Even so, it's still nice to have that...

In some respects the Yoga 2 is a real bargain, as it provides good screen quality, battery life and lightweight design at a very competitive price. Performance is below-par, although it will still handle routine web browsing, streaming video and...

Consumer review (newegg.com)

no hardwire issues

thought I would use the pad feature more but the keyboard in back has a feel that takes some getting use to. I like having the key board; easier to use than the touch screen keyboard.

well built. have not found any issues with the refirb ; able to use open office and print ; light weight ; don't have to be concerned about blocking vents ; like having the two usb ports as well as the sd card reader

not much offered for windows 8 yet. ie no campground directories ; simply not in the same league as apple or Samsung

So far So good

item is like new, no scratches or any noticeable imperfections. It is very light and even though it is a weak processor, windows run very smoothly, as long as you don't game on it, it will be fine

wish it had 8 gig of memory, 4 isn't really enough for a good amount of multi tasking

Performance and Value

I was worried about the CPU speed and resolution of this lower end hybrid, but those concerns have been abated. This unit is perfect. This laptop is used for school and browsing. It was purchased for around $279 after rebate. Out of the box speed was...

Lightweight. Good battery. Good build quality. Good for traveling. Resolution perfect for this size. Celeron CPU does have enough oomph for productivity and play. No bloatware out of the box. Tablet, tent, and touchscreen are cool

Wide bezel on the screen. Back cover shows fingerprints easily

Decent...when working

Do not buy refurbished items from lenovo

Quick and snappy, fast bootup time after updating firmwares

Battery life average at 2 hours with minimal to no usage. After 2 weeks of using lightly every other day, the laptop battery is now completely dead at 0%, when plugged in it says "plugged in, not charging". I never leave it charging and unplug it right...

Disappointing - new parts are unobtainable from China.

I brought mine from John Lewis based on Which Review. I found the screen size just a little on the small size for me. However, build quality felt good and it seemed to cope quite well with my usage (Masters Mature student at University). However, after...

Appalling. Can't believe this is a best buy

  (Rating Hidden)

Purchased this on the strength of the Which review and the fact that I liked the model I tried in the shop. After taking over a week to download updates and Windows 8.1. ( something I was not warned would happen) , I could finally do some work on it,...
