Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx Review

Just last month, we checked out the well-rounded performer in the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2, which did justice in the tablet market with its long withstanding ThinkPad brand. However, if you're still itching to save some money on a Windows 8 tablet,...

Affordable price point compared to other Windows 8 tablets ; Great battery life ; Nearly zero bloatware

Sluggish performance with intensive tasks ; Bland and boring design ; Low quality construction

Seriously, if saving money is all that you care about, there's no arguing that you'll be doing just that with the Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx. Despite its less than appetizing design combined with its entry-level specs, the Lynx is able to deliver the same...

Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx review

Comparing the roughly half-dozen Intel Atom Windows 8 tablets that we've seen to date is relatively easy. Nearly all of them, from the HP Envy X2 to the Dell Latitude 10, are built around essentially identical hardware platforms, starting with an Intel...

The IdeaTab Lynx is well-balanced when plugged into its keyboard base, and offers good battery life, and a bigger-screen alternative to Lenovo's other Atom tablet.

The keyboard has too much flex, and the docking hinge sticks. For only a little more, better products are available.

The IdeaTab Lynx is a perfectly functional Windows 8 hybrid but lacks the lower price of some competitors, or better design and features of others.

"A half-baked idea from Microsoft and Lenovo."

The bonehead charging/USB design from Microsoft and Lenovo overrides anything good about the tablet.

Full Windows 8.

Tablet has a single microUSB port that doubles as a charging port. You cannot charge while connected to a USB device or connect to a USB device while charging unless you are connected to the optional keyboard-dock, which has been discontinued!

"Super tablet but the dock needs improvement."

GREAT PRICE ($349 for both tablet and keyboard dock), GREAT battery (with keyboard, 16 hours),and 2 USB 2.0 ports. ultra-thin too!

The keyboard takes a bit of time getting used to and the touchpad is bit to small. Does not come preloaded with office 2013 like some other tablets. Also it is a bit tricky to detach the tablet from the keyboard dock.

Very cool and useful tablet.

I chose to the get the Lenovo over the HP Envy x2 because of 2 things. 1, it was readily available and on sale (bought at staples with keyboard dock for $599) and 2, I read that performance was marginally better than the HP Envy x2. There are a few...

Very light. The ability to run my development programs such as sql server, visual studios and ms office. Amazing battery life (with the keyboard). 2 full usb's in the keyboard accessory.

The optional keyboard keys has so much flex that it makes it difficult to type. The touch pad is just AWEFUL Very cheaply made keyboard. No back facing camera.
