Samsung ATIV Tab review: the Windows RT tablet you'll never find in the US

In a world that's increasingly dominated by tablets, Microsoft, whose fortune is intertwined with desktops and laptops, needed to prevent its customers

Amazing battery life ; Solid hardware ; Fantastic for productivity

WiFi Sync is a pain ; Windows RT still lacks some big-name apps ; You'll pay a premium over the equivalent Surface

Samsung’s Windows RT tablet beats the Surface RT in plenty of ways; it’s just a shame it can’t beat it on price.

Samsung Ativ Tab preview: First look

It may look like Samsung is dipping a toe in unknown waters but its long-time partnership with Microsoft is a wet suit of sorts. The Ativ Tab may be the company's first Windows RT tablet but not its first Windows slate.

Another trick up Windows RT's sleeve is the Office 2013 Home & Student edition. It includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

Samsung ATIV Tab Review: Qualcomm's First Windows RT Tablet

I remember writing Intel and telling them that, from a tablet perspective, the Windows 8 launch might as well have been a Windows RT launch. By the time October 23rd rolled around, the only Windows tablets we had in for review were ARM based and...

Although I like the ATIV Tab, I still feel like Windows RT/8 and the first generation of tablets need another iteration before they're truly ready for duty. I'd love to see the Surface team's industrial design paired with a faster SoC, a lighter...

Review Samsung ATIV Tab GT-P8510 Tablet

Premium tablet? At least that's the segment in which Samsung places its new 750 Euro (~$980) ATIV. Windows RT, a 10.1-inch screen, 2 GB RAM, a fast 1.5 GHz SoC from Qualcomm, and the latest wireless technologies make a solid starting point.

Good feel, workmanship, and stability, Attractive design, USB and HDMI ports, Modern wireless technologies, including NFC, Compelling 10.1-inch touchscreen, Good performance under Windows RT, Low heat generation, Positioning of the stereo speakers,...

No UMTS option, Charging is only possible via the adapter, Memory: only 14 of the 32 GB are available, Limited range of products in the Windows Store, Minimalistic camera application, Display resolution of just 1366x768 pixels, Average sounding...

Samsung ATIV Tab Review

As far as tablets go, we didn't really have that much of a variety until recently. One could either get an iPad from Apple, or go with an Android tablet that fits their budget and preferences. But now that Windows RT is here, things are seemingly bound...

Full-sized USB port ; Very light for a 10-inch tablet

Build quality is so-so ; Serious shortage of apps

We have to admit that we quite enjoyed spending some time with the Samsung ATIV Tab. Using a tablet that is neither an iPad nor an Android device feels refreshing in its own way, reminding us that there is always more than one way to skin a cat. Sure,...

The Samsung ATIV Tab has decent features under the hood and an attractive design that makes it an adept alternative to Microsoft's $499 Surface RT. The ATIV Tab though doesn't stand out against the market-leading iPad, as well as other Windows RT...

Samsung's first Windows 8 RT tablet, complete with Galaxy S3 finish.

The Samsung ATIV Tab Windows 8 RT tablet offers a decent spread of features, connectivity and fairly snazzy looks. However, without knowing how much the thing will cost it’s hard to know how it compares with the Windows 8 RT offerings from Asus, Sony...
