LG 47LW550T review

Up until now, most of the marketing activity for 3D has been based around active systems, which require expensive (c. £100 per pair) LCD-shutter glasses which need charging, and can have issues with synchronisation to the 3D frame-switching signal.

Comes with multi pairs of glasses; half-res images are good; wide viewing angle

Inconsistent 2D-to-3D conversion; poor audio

LG 47LW550T review

LG's new 47-inch 3D LED screen makes a convincing argument for passive 3D

Impressive Smart TV functions ; Excellent contrast level ; Extensive picture adjustments ; Fuss-free 3D implementation ; Audio performance

Crosstalk evident with some 3D material ; Overall design could be improved ; Passive 3D brings a drop in resolution

LG is unique in the UK TV market by offering both active and passive 3D sets. The 47LW550T is one of the latter, dubbed Cinema 3D by the Korean brand to help confused consumers realise that it shares the same glasses technology that they've become used...

LG 47LW550T

Very slim and lightweight compared to the previous LCD and other plasma screens of the same size. 3D system is excellent and we love the 2D to 3D conversion, and despite what others say, it works over wide angles in our living room. Picture quality is...

SMART TV functions are just not that smart. The web browser is useless for most modern websites using Flash content - this is a massive disappointment and LG have really messed up what would be a brilliant tv. The fact you can't use the USB to plug in...
