LG 47LB5900

LG's LB5900 series of low-cost HDTVs offer a bright, sharp picture, but are held back by limited features, poor contrast ratio, and just two HDMI ports.

Attractive. Bright panel. Good color accuracy and picture quality.

Poor black levels and contrast ratio. Only two HDMI ports. No connected features.

Conclusion The LG 47LB5900's attractive gray exterior sets it apart, but the screen's excellent color accuracy can't make up for one of the worst contrast ratios we've measured. And the lack of connected features coupled with just two HDMI ports makes...

Good Value TV

FYI, lowering backlight seems to help with the edge shadowing and dark artifacting. Here are some of the settings that worked best for me. Start by selecting APS preset. Then disable dynamic contrast, but put dyamic colors on medium. Set energy saving...

This is a big value size tv, sure its not a smart 3d tv or 4k, but its also 200 to 1000 dollars cheaper then those tv's. It is 1080P however, and its cheaper and lighter then a plasma. The contrast is amazing on this tv , it gets very bright, so bright...

While the tv is crisp, clear, bright, and colorful, the black level is not as good as a plasma but its not bad. And while this is only noticable on a dark screen, I notice backlight artifacting on the bottom of the screen, again not noticable when lit....

Pretty good for the price

No complaints so far, very good for the price, satisfied. Was kinda having second thoughts after I read some negative reviews regarding color contrast, black not being perfect black, etc. but I think these are technicalities. If calibration done right,...

This was my first flatscreen LCD, so I didn't wanna spend too much money on it ; Very easy and quick to set up ; Decent picture quality ; Picture calibration quick and easy

Only 2 HDMI ports ; The 2 near edge stands make it unsuitable for narrow tables;Should have a center stand

Very nice image

Sharp and clear image and colors. The only missing feature I can think off is the smart TV feature that I overcome with a ruko box.The width is a bit thicker than most of the TV's today, but does not bother me - so just make sure if fits you requirements.

Exellent unit!

Have known LG for years, this is my first product "owned" made by them. Have been running the TV now a few months, picture quality is still impressive. Couldn't be happier

Great picture and worth the purchase and upgrade

I previously owned a 42" LG and definitely approve of the upgrade to 55". It has a great picture, looks awesome hung on the wall. I do wish it had more ports for HDMI/USB, but overall a great TV!

Beautiful Picture!

Excellent color and clarity! Nice sound too. The television is thin and light. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great Picture

Some of the screen functions are not very easy to determine the best picture. It takes quite a while to tune channels if using an HD antennae. Great picture when gaming (sports video games).

Best of the bunch!

I must have looked and read reviews, compared prices for weeks. For what this LG TV offers at this price range, it is perfect! Easy to setup, decent sound and a great, crisp HD picture! I love it! I added a sound bar and with luck, it should last for...
