A Review of the LG Electronics 49UB8200 49-Inch 4K Ultra HD 60Hz Smart LED TV

While LG isn't exactly known for having some of the most affordable 4K ultra HD TVs on the market today, they do manage to put out what is in effect a great deal on ultra HD with select models. The 49UB8200 is an excellent example of this.

Very reasonable price ; Full connectivity package ; Very good color reproduction ; IPS panels for wide angle viewing ; Solid TV overall

60Hz refresh rate ; Crappy out-of-the-box visual settings ; Could use one more HDMI port ; Slightly clumsy stand design ; Better TVs can be bought at same price

Overall, the 49UB8200 is a solid 4K TV for more economy minded buyers but there are better deals available and its refresh rate is too low for your money.

Mind-blowing visual quality

I upgraded to this TV from a 1080p Insignia TV I bought a couple years ago. The price difference between the two was only about $150, but the difference blew me away. Even a 1080p LG TV would have been far superior, I'm sure, but 4K is a different...

Great range of blacks ; Amazing color depth ; 4K @ 60FPS ; Games look great, no ghosting or other issues ; Google cast directly to the TV with your smartphone ; Interface and use of apps is quick and easy, fast processor

As with the other reviewer, the remote sometimes takes multiple button presses to register with the TV. I considered deducting an egg for this, but it's really not a big deal. I primarily use this TV with my Nvidia Shield and its controllers, anyway

Amazing TV at this price

As I said - I spent the weekend playing with this TV. I ran through a number of films; Brazil, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, Re-Animator, The Quiet Earth, Exorcist, Late Phases. I wanted to see if there was an improvement on the image quality - I was blown...

Astounding picture quality (best I have seen). Nice UI for apps page. Built in speakers are good - lacking in bass. Amazing price for a 4k (purchased on sale at $600). Sturdy & attractive design

Spent the weekend using this television and could not find one issue with performance. My only problem is that I have a 42" LG 3D TV that allows for a sound bar to be hooked up and used with the built in speakers - this televisions only wants to use...
