LG 50PZ550

Of the plasma screens released by LG this year, the 50PZ550 ($1099 MSRP) falls in the middle of the value range, just behind the xxPZ750 and the xxPZ950 series. The feature set is not too different between the series, you will still have access to...

Good motion processing ; A wide viewing angle

Awful color performance ; A low peak brightness, and a high black level for a plasma screen

LG did not release a good set of plasma televisions this year. We really expected to see a line of televisions that could compete with the best because of the sterling color performance of their LCD displays. However, none of these plasmas were going...

LG Electronics 50PZ550 50-inch 3D Plasma HDTV Reviewed

Andrew Robinson sat down with the LG Electronics 50PZ550 50-inch 3D Plasma HDTV and ran the television through a battery of tests. And at each and every turn the 50PZ550 managed to impress him....

It never ceases to amaze me when I look back and see just how far we've come in terms of technology and performance in such a short amount of time. The LG 50PZ550 3D plasma has arguably one of the best images I've seen from not only a plasma display...

Great Picture/Affordable Price Tag

Right TV for the right room makes all the difference. The TV has a glossy screen, but in a room that does not recieve a lot of natural light it's not an issue. I would recomend this TV to anyone in this price range!

Excellent picture quality with deep blacks and quick response times, makes this one of the more impressive flat screens I have ever owned. Side note, wasn't expecting it to be thin, but it is pretty slim!

TV stand not the greatest, but by no means flimsy. The residual burn is not permament ( got me nervous at first) and using the eco button to turn off the backlight can ease your nerves if you are worried about it.

Wireless

Great picture, easy setup, nice design

I'm giving only 2 stars because of the wireless options - royally sick of companies requiring their overpriced dongles for their TVs, when any $20 usb adapter should work fine. Ridiculous and without merit. This is a good TV, but LG needs a kick in the...

Great 3D Plasma but......

From what the technician told me allot of these models that first come off the assembly line had some mainboard problems causing the video to go out. I did not buy it from NewEgg and paid less than $1,000 for it with 2 pair free 3-D glasses. Overall...

It's a wonderful Plasma TV. 1:3 Millionth contrast is really nice. The color black is velvet smooth. 3-D is amazing with the LG 3-D glasses. Very thin frame and back. Lots of USB and HDMi ports. Also has dual Component out. All around gorgeous picture.

after 7 months the mainboard in mine died. A quick call to LG support and they had a local technician out the next day. The board had to be ordered so no TV for about 4 days. Technician was friendly and very nice and got the board replaced and now its...
