LG 50PQ30 Plasma HDTV Review - Intro

The LG 50PQ30 is an entry-level plasma with a 50-inch screen and 1080p resolution. Even though it's a lower end set, the 50PQ30 got some decent test scores. While the TV is very light on the features, it's incredibly inexpensive for its size: $798.99.

The LG 50PQ30 had consistently inconsistent performance across the board. It had a good black level, but was pretty dim overall, so it didn't have a great contrast ratio. It did do pretty well on our color accuracy tests, but its color gamut was pretty...

LG 50PQ30

A lower-end set with decent scores and a really low price for its size

Solid color performance; Good peak brightness

Terrible viewing angle; Heavy power consumption

LG 42PQ30 Review- 42-inch Plasma HDTV

The 42PQ30 is designed for those that want a great bargain TV but still want the quality of one of the biggest electronic name brands, LG. The 720p resolution is the most noticeable difference between this HDTV and others. 720p is still high definition...

LG 50PQ30 Review – 50-inch Plasma HDTV

The LG 50PQ30 is a great entry level plasma TV. It has a classsic look with a black casing and slim profile. Although not in the same category as the LG PS80 series, the LG 50PQ30 is great for most HDTV viewers. This set fails to impress the HDTV...

not a good but

LG customer service was prompt on phone all the times I called. I was not even mad about the broken TV. Until the negative repair guy came. I read the reviews I felt I was making a good purchase. I dont think I would buy from an online dealer again....

it lasted for 32 day

black line on far left of screen. New egg will not replace because i throw out the box. LG rep has been to my house twice so far and still has to order a screen now. It has been broke for three weeks and the reps did not know how long the part would...

Nice Set

Set will not power on with remote until the power button on the unit is pressed. This should be pointed out in bold text somewhere, do not disconnect your TV like I did without pressing the button first.

Vibrant picture, bought this TV to replace a 32" LCD. Plasma's picture quality is superior to LCD's by far. The natural colors and high contrast really bring images to life. There is absolutely no response lag. This TV is in my basement, where my...

No side panel input & Only 2 HDMI's. Also, the menu's and manual are in broken English. When you connect a new source the screen will prompt you to switch with this text: "A new source detected, do you wish to enjoy this

Great TV

I got it 550 shipped white glove from another vender. Otherwise I would have gotten it from newegg (like i do everything else).

Good looking set ; Finds over the air stations i never thought existed ; The remote is very responsive, unlike the other dumb dell I have ; Lightweight, especially for the unit's screensize ; Very thin for a plasma ; QAM tuner lets me snatch HD...

Remote isnt backlighted ; The TV only rotates about 30 degrees on its stand. That isnt a huge deal tho

Really Nice

the native res is 720, but easily does 1080 at 60hz it says so in the manual. Can't tell if Cable is 720 or 1080, but it really looks good. Make sure you have enough room. For the first 50-100 viewing hours I was told to keep the contrast ratio down...

Beautiful TV (pretty) front glass, HD Resolutions, Price is amazing!, Great settings menus, power saving built in, super smooth looking, plasma, yes it actually does 1080, it swivels 20 deg

Pretty heavy/Bulky, Burn-in possibility, Blacks are not super deep blacks but so much better than most lcd's. The glass can cause a lot of glare, with light. Uses almost 3 X more power than lcds. Almost too big for the spot assigned, shipping from...
