LG 47LX6500 3D LED LCD HDTV Review - Intro

The LG 47LX6500 ($2699 MSRP) has a lot of intriguing features, most notably the 3D display. It's LG's first attempt at a 3D TV (along with the LX9500 series), and we're sorry to say that it's a poor result. Sure, it's a very good 2D performer, but who...

The LG 47LX6500 ($2699 MSRP) is a good-to-very-good television, as far as its 2D performance is concerned. The black level was weak, but the contrast ratio is acceptable. The color performance is outstanding, once again showing where LG's strength's...

LG 47LX6500

The LG 47LX6500 is a 47-inch LCD that supports 3D display, hence the hefty $2699 MSRP. The standard 2D performance was fantastic, but we suspect that LG has a long way to go in improving its 3D TVs

The LG 47LX6500 has a thin, attractive frame made of reflective, black plastic. The thin-necked base has a slight brownish tint, which may or may not fit in with your decor. The remote control, like the user experience, is par for the course - nothing...

LG 47LX6500

LG's first attempt at 3D, with poor results (though strong 2D performance)

Great color performance; Smooth motion results

Migraine-worthy 3D; Steep early-adopter price

The LG 47LX6500 ($2699 MSRP) is a good-to-very-good television, as far as its 2D performance is concerned. The black level was weak, but the contrast ratio is acceptable. The color performance is outstanding, once again showing where LG’s strength’s lie.

LG 47" 3-D Ready 1080p 240Hz LED-LCD HDTV 47LX6500

Kinda a con you can see some of the special effects and they look cheesy because the picture is so life like.

Set up was easy, lots of hdmi ports. Great picture you do need a good cable provider for HD

The Real Deal

LED is brilliant / 3d great with X-box and DirecTV / thin profile / monster refresh / internet connectivity / most everything involving setup intuitive

Had a little trouble establishing local IP address...prolly more related to my switch, though. One HDMI appears to be reluctant...need to research it though. I'm really scraping the bottom with these things. Shipping to a 'remote' area can be...

Amazing TV

What else do you need to pull the trigger beyond the $1000 off the sticker price?

The TV is very slim, light weight, and has the great picture it advertises. It also comes with a few games that, while not very good or a lot of fun, were a nice touch the day we opened it. The 240hz makes regular DVDs seem strange when you're used to...

None yet, although note that if you have a low-grade cable provider you may not get to enjoy the full 240hz. For example, while watching football I notice the football itself is blurry while in the air, but this is a product of my poor HD cable...

Excellent TV and 3D Blue-Ray Package

The 2D picture quality was outstanding right out of the box. You can customize the diplay settings but I went back to the standard settings. The first 3D experiance was not that great. I subscribe to Comcast and the few 3D programs had significant...

It's good!

We upgraded to the 50inch version of this model. Pretty good decision, picture quality is good. Really like the ease of use in changing from foxtel, hard drives, gaming consoles etc. An LG TV will probably be our next TV as well.

Good picture, easy to use.
