Panasonic TC-P50G25 50-Inch Plasma TV

(Editor's note: This review of the Panasonic G25 series is based on our hands-on testing and evaluation of the 42-inch TC-P42G25. According to the manufacturer, the image quality and features should be equivalent for each TV in this model line.)

Very inexpensive ; Attractive menu and first-time wizard

Disappointing image quality

The Panasonic G25 Series has a lot going for it, including a very low price. But its image quality doesn't measure up to that of the best competing sets.

Panasonic TC-P50G25

It may not offer as many bells and whistles as pricier HDTVs, but Panasonic's 50-inch TC-P50G25 plasma delivers solid picture quality at a price you can live with.

Reasonably priced. Excellent black levels. Beautiful HD picture. Wide viewing angles

Only 3 HDMI ports. Not terribly energy efficient. A limited number of Web apps.

Panasonic TC-P50G25 Plasma HDTV Review - Intro

The Panasonic TC-P50G25 is an entry-level, 50-inch plasma and, for an entry-level set, the TV put up some impressive numbers. The TV also has an ethernet port to connect to online content, but don't expect much from the feature. The second additional...

The Panasonic TC-P50G25 is a decent entry-level HDTV. The TC-P50G25 has a great black level, high contrast ratio, and an incredible viewing angle. The TV had some issues with its color performance, though, and the picture was often very noisy. The...

Panasonic TC-P50G25 Review

Panasonic Viera TC-P50G25 is a very good plasma TV model, and it has some very strong points that recommended, such as the ink like black levels, and the accurate colors delivered in THX mode. Still, some small issues that appear when you want to watch...

Great black levels, Above average anti-glare capabilities, Amazing colors in THX mode

Issues with 1080p/24 sources, Sub-par standard definition performance, No real built in Wi-Fi (it works with a dongle, though)

Review: Panasonic TC-P50G25 50-Inch Plasma TV

The Panasonic G25 Series has a lot going for it, including a very low price. But its image quality doesn't measure up to that of the best competing sets.

The G25 series has a pretty basic design. Its bezel is shiny, black, squared-off, and somewhat thick; and the television sits on an oval swivel stand. Physical buttons (Power, Menu, Input/Ok, Volume, and Channels) are hidden on the back left side of...

Panasonic TC-P50G25 50-inch Class VIERA G25 Series 1080p Plasma HDTVReview

Panasonic's G25 series of 1080p plasma HDTVs may not have 3D capabilities, but they still produce some drop dead gorgeous images.

Performance, particularly on our test patterns and more particularly on standard-definition material, could have been stronger, but on some of my most challenging HD movie discs, the TC-P50G25 delivered a downright gorgeous picture. Feed it a high...

Panasonic TC-P50G25 Review – 50-inch Plasma HDTV

It is but natural that technology gets better with time. And in trying to live up to the latest technology trends, Panasonic makes headway with its Plasma line by introducing the 3D and the Viera features. However, this G25 series loses out on the 3D...

The Panasonic TC-P58S2 is also energy efficient. This model is 40% more efficient than the stated requirements in the Energy Star 4.0. The technology used in the TV is responsible for this. The NeoPDP panels have a great part to play in this. The power...

The Panasonic TC-P50G25 ($1500) is a 1080p 50-inch, entry-level plasma display. For its price, it performed well in our lab testing. An ethernet port offers access to streaming content, Panasonic's offerings still lag far behind the competition. On the...

There's no doubt that the TC-P50G25 positions itself as just such a hub. One look at the chassis and its multitude of ports tells you that. There are three HDMIs, two composites, two components, VGA, digital and analog audio outputs, an SD/SDHC/SDXC...
