Panasonic TX-50CX700B review

The Panasonic Viera TX-50CX700B is an affordable 50-inch UHD TV. Not only does it have a stunning design, but it also delivers exceptionally good picture quality with Panasonic's "Super Bright" technology giving bright, vivid images with deep blacks...

Panasonic has got 2015 off to a very good start with this affordable large-screen television. Although there are cheaper 50-inch TVs available, the Viera TX-50CX700B is one of the best for picture quality. Offering UHD (4K) levels of detail and superb...

Panasonic TX-50CX700B

On the surface, at least, the TX-50CX700B appears to be a serious bargain. For £900, you get a 50in screen with a 4K UHD resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, alongside an impressive number of picture and smart TV features.

Great picture quality and features for the money ; The Firefox OS is very good ; Polished upscaling

Motion handling could be better ; Some minor backlight flaws ; 3D lacks detail

Panasonic TX-50CX700 review

This 4K set is a joy to watch and a pleasure to use, but how does the Panasonic shape up against its closest competitors?

Good amount of detail ; Nuanced colour palette ; Pleasure to use

Contrast could be better defined ; Uneven backlight on our sample

We can have few qualms with this reasonably priced 4K telly; its performance is still good enough to justify a bit of penny pinching

Panasonic TX-50CX700 review

This metallic mid-ranger with Firefox and blade-like feet puts 4K at the forefront

Slick design ; 4K detail ; Black levels ; Colours ; Firefox OS

Only three HDMI inputs ; DVDs not upscaled well ; Some motion blur ; Freeview Play delayed

With Firefox OS on board and an all-new LED panel, the TX-50CX700 – complete with razor-sharp design – comes across as a good value 4K telly, which makes the most of its pixels and upscales well.

Panasonic TX-50CX700B

Bought this TV and i must say it's really impressed me. Netflix is so easy to access. I'm having too many late nights with this bad boy, love it. Only down side is that it doesn't come with 3D glasses, so i've had to mission to find some, but...

Super TV. Bougt from Curry's at the weekend. Came with a free Panasonic sound bar worth £349.99, so unbeatable value.

Panasonic VIERA TX-50CX700B

Superb image quality - blu-ray looks stunning on this set. Watching Game of Thrones in blu-ray on it is a real joy, particularly the landscape images! Although this does not have HDR, I don't notice the loss all that much. When compared to a friend's...

Sound quality is not great (but I hear this is a design fault common with all modern TV sets, as the sound vents are located at the bottom of the device). Also, for a modern set, it does not include HDR (although the image is still superb - it would be...

4k clarity is immense and true cinema is closest you will get to industry standard. menus are intuitive and most things are automatically switched so not to much faffing...plays consoles content well with little noticeable lag... overall the family...

Can show some ghosting and motion blur with picture enhancements on running at 60hz, which you would expect better from Panasonic... stand is aesthetically beautiful but is very wide....True Blacks although good are not as great as advertised
