Panasonic TX-P 42 S 10

Superb picture in dark rooms., Sharp motion depiction., Accurate 24p., Easy tuner operation., Overscan can be switched off

Limited brightness., High power consumption., Line flicker plagues films in 576i/1080i format

The perfect choice for buyers looking for a home-cinema TV that’s both cheap and up-to-date: The TX-P 42 S 10 offers excellent colours, high contrast, and crisp motion. If you can live with the high power consumption and limited brightness, then tuck in!

Panasonic TX-L 42 S 10

Accurate 24p reproduction., Smooth TV operation., Overscan can be deactivated on the standard-definition inputs

Low contrast., Too few picture controls., Slight weaknesses in HDTV video processing., Poor motion clarity in video-based material

Those looking for a home-cinema TV should probably go for one of Panasonic’s plasmas — this LCD’s weak contrast is particularly irritating in dark environments. But the TX-L 42 S 10 does offer some advantages: low power consumption, excellent...

Panasonic Viera TX-P42S10 42in Plasma TV

The Panasonic TX-P42S10 is worth a look if you're after an affordable 42in plasma for a low-lit viewing room.

Panasonic TX-P42S10 review

The Panasonic TX-P42S10 is part of its new range of plasma TVs that offer solid and enjoyable, if not class-leading, performance

Typical plasma benefits such as deep blacks and rich, warm colours ; very stable DVD pictures ; decent detail levels

The best offer even more detail, punch and colour neutrality

Plasma fans will enjoy this Panasonic’s overall balance, but you can buy a more exciting TV for less

Panasonic TX-P42S10 / TX-P42S10B review

A mid range plasma from Panasonic has dull styling but good HD pictures

Excellent black levels ; Full HD resolution ; Mostly impressive HD pictures

Colour tone ; Brightness ; SD pictures sharpness

Not quite the plasma classic we'd hoped for, but this is nonetheless a good performer that offers solid value for money

Panasonic Viera TX-P42S10

The Panasonic Viera TX-P42S10 is a 42-inch Full HD (1080p) plasma television with 30,000:1 native contrast ratio. It has 400Hz sub-field drive, JPEG playback, Freeview tuner and three HDMI ports. It measures just 105mm thick, and weighs 27kg. The good...

In the cut-throat eco-system of flatscreen tellies, it’s strictly survival of the hottest. Panasonic’s plasmas prove their worth by shrinking waistlines and price-tags while offering images that are bright, smooth and arse-slappingly exciting....

Panasonic TX-P42S10B

Contrary to what you might expect given the 'step up' nature of this group test, it's actually not the NeoPDP system. But it still offers something important above Panasonic's entry-level models in the shape of 400Hz Sub-Field Drive processing. This,...

Brilliant black levels, good HD pictures, good value, full HD

Standard def pictures can look a bit soft, colours not always the most natural, pictures not very bright

Panasonic TX-P42S10

I really like the design of the Panasonic, the build quality of the tv itself is excellent, the remote control is easy to use but feels a bit bulky and cheap (but dont let that put you off). The sound is very good and suits most sizes of room, I am...

not a lot really, just the build quality of the remote control and the material feels a bit cheap, works fine and does the job.
