Review: Philips 65OLED873 | Dazzling Contrast And Sparkling Colour Philips 65OLED873

The competition must come up with something special to surpass the Philips' colourful OLED TV Philips 65OLED873.

The Philips display provides dazzling contrast and sparkling colour, which is amplified by the atmospheric Ambilight.

Philips does not support Dolby Vision, and the smart interface could have been even faster.

Philips 55OLED803 4K OLED TV review

Now bug-free, this Philips OLED is one of the finest TVs available

Bright, colourful images ; Superb detail with non-4K content ; Weighty, balanced sound

Missing a couple of common apps ; Skin tones aren’t perfect ; Beaten for motion processing

With the bugs now squashed, the Philips 803 is the most convincing argument yet against buying an LG OLED

Philips OLED 803 4K HDR TV (55OLED803) review

Move over Thanos – Philips redefines reality with next-gen P5 image processor

Superb image performance with HD and 4K ; Three-sided Ambilight ; Designer good looks

No Freeview Play ; That Android update is long overdue ; Only two full-specification 4K HDMI inputs

Philips has conjured up a cracking 4K OLED screen with the 55OLED803. It does a magical job uplifting SDR content for HDR-like viewing, and delivers superb detail and contrast. Add Hue compatible Ambilight mood lighting, and you get a 4K TV with broad...

Philips OLED 803 4K HDR TV (65OLED803) review

Could this TV be the Best UHD Buy in Philips 2018 OLED range?

Vivid, detailed UHD image quality ; Three-sided Ambilight ; Stylish, understated design

Widely-space feet mean you’ll need suitably wide TV furniture ; We’re trying to love the Android TV OS, we really are…

Philips expects to have a huge hit on its hands with this new (cheap?) entry-level OLED TV. And with good reason. Stylish design and premium picture quality should make this a must-audition 4K UHD TV...

Philips 803 OLED TV (55OLED803) review: Ambilight and multiple delights

The latest OLED panel from Philips brings its performance right up to date, plus there's Ambilight and superb processing from this 55- or 65-inch set.

Advanced image processing engine ; Impressive HDR picture performance ; Minimalist design ; Natural Perfect Reality SDR up-conversion ; Ambilight adds dynamism

Android Oreo software update can’t come fast enough ; Limited catch-up TV options ; Lack of Dolby Vision support ; Only two HDMI inputs are full spec 2160/60p

Philips has produced a humdinger of an OLED telly when it comes to picture quality. Add a slick design, decent audio and crowd-pleasing Ambilight, and this is a set to shortlist - provided you can live with the inelegant Android TV operating system and...

Philips 803 OLED (65OLED803) review: OLED mastery from Philips

Philips takes LG's 2018 OLED panel and weaves its image processing and Ambilight magic to create something very special indeed

OLED delivers perfect blacks, vibrant colours and wide viewing angles ; Motion handling is exemplary ; Ambilight

No Dolby Vision ; Input lag higher than rivals ; Clipping of bright detail in 4000-nit HDR movies

In short, it’s another exemplary OLED TV from Philips. As with its predecessors, Philips’ image processing engine serves up stunningly refined motion across sport, movies and games. The only slight disappointment is the higher input lag compared to the...

Philips 55OLED803/12 television review

  (Rating Hidden)

Starting at £1,499 the 55-inch Philips 55OLED803/12 is among the cheapest OLEDs money can buy, but as our tests have shown, being an OLED doesn't guarantee a Best Buy TV. It doesn't hurt though, and when done well, OLED TVs are capable of extraordinary...

Philips 803 (65OLED803) Review

Philips 803 is their entry-level OLED 4K TV and the new model boasts a 2nd Gen P5+ processor, HDR10+ support, three-sided Ambilight and the Android...

Excellent SDR image quality ; Excellent calibrated colour reproduction for SDR ; Excellent calibrated greyscale tracking for SDR ; Good quality calibration controls ; Strong out of the box picture quality in ISF modes ; Superb HDR brightness and...

No Dolby Vision ; UI and Smart TV using Android 7.0 is weaker than most of the competition ; No Freeview Play and lacking most catch-up services ; App line-up could be more comprehensive ; Menus get in the way of calibration and we need better memory...

There is no doubt that Philips has been struggling over the last few years to get their products into the UK retailers and building brand awareness with new products. This has been a shame, as the TV products over the last few years have been very...
