The LED backlighting means the TV is low power, light, and gives a clean, even picture over the whole display. It should also last longer than other types of backlights (which was why I bought a new TV in the first place). Of course, it'll be years...

A nice big 40" panel, so you have 1920x1080 instead of the more usual 1366x768 like the smaller 32" panels. It's very low power, with plenty of inputs. Works great with my PC, Ouya, PS3, and Dish satellite. The picture is clean, sharp, and colorful

No 3D, but I don't care for 3D anyway. I prefer not paying extra for what is almost assuredly a passing fad
