Samsung PS51D6900

Samsung turns its 3D attentions to plasma, with impressive and startlingly affordable results

Good 3D and 2D pictures ; Exceptional value ; Extensive and well presented online functionality

Black level response could be better ; A little motion judder at times ; No web browser or Skype

Samsung’s PS51D6900 isn’t the last word in plasma picture performance. That honour still belongs comfortably to Panasonic’s 2011 GT30 and VT30 models. What the PS51D6900 most definitely does manage to be, though, is easily the best value 3D screen...

Samsung PS59D6900 review

Bargain price and wi-fi enabled but let down by its so-so  picture

Price ; extensive features including wi-fi ; impressive smart features ; excellent colour

Lack of clarity and detail to images ; motion issues ; poorer-than-average sound

While the price suggests a bargain, the so-so picture quality might put you off

Samsung PS51D6900 review

Samsung doesn't seem to like plasma very much. Every year, the brand's marketing focuses almost exclusively on its latest LED TVs, while its plasma models sneak into stores with little or no fanfare.

Lovely looks; exemplary Smart TV functions; good 2D and 3D pictures; good operating system Lows: Some crosstalk during dark 3D scenes; black levels could be deeper Performance: 4/5 Design: 5/5 Features: 5/5 Overall: 4/5

Samsung PS51D6900 review

Top value active 3D TV with impressive Smart TV multimedia capability

Great value ; Good looks ; Impressive 2D and 3D performance ; Expansive feature count ; Lots of multimedia support ; Good online service ; Helpful operating system

Minor crosstalk with 3D ; Average black levels ; No web browser ; Some odd menu organisation

The Samsung PS51D6900 sells for a paltry £1,300, despite its active 3D technology and 51-inch screen.

Samsung PS51D6900 review

A great-value plasma TV, with a well-designed user interface and plenty of extra features – the PS51D6900 doesn't have the best image quality we've seen, but it's close

Review: Samsung PS51D6900 The Best Value Plasma Of The Year?

Samsung moves 3D from LED to Plasma, and with a few design tweaks, has added an inch to its screen size in this incarnation. It's all courtesy of a shrunken bezel, but does it really make a difference to picture quality?

Good 3D and 2D pictures; Exceptional value; Extensive and well presented online functionality ;

Black level response could be better; A little motion judder at times; No web browser or Skype

Samsung PS51D6900 Plasma 3D TV

Samsung's PS51D6900 3D TV has been getting some very positive publicity since its launch, so we decided to grab one for ourselves to give it the once over.

If I needed a new TV, I would seriously consider buying the Samsung PS51D6900. The picture quality, screen size and feature set is quite simply breathtaking for the money you pay and it puts to shame certain 3D TVs almost double its price.

Samsung D6900 (PS51D6900) FULL HD 3D Plasma Television Review

Samsung's D6900 51-inch 3D Plasma TV looks like a bargain, let's see if it delivers the goods.

Price! ; Reference Calibrated Greyscale ; Excellent Colour Reproduction ; Smart Hub Features ; Motion Handling ; Excellent 3D ; Solid Black Levels with perfect Uniformity ; Freeview HD ; Calibration Controls ; Built-in WiFi ; Price!

Brightness 'Pops' ; High Frequency Detail Filtering ; Cadence Detection is a bit Broken

Considering that here we have a 1080p 3D Ready display, measuring over 50 inches, packed to the gills with features costing less than £900, then we are certainly in the realms of Best Buy territory. The fact that the Samsung PS51D6900 manages to...
