Samsung MU9000 review: This TV looks lovely turned off

Some people prize the best picture for the money, but others care a lot about how a TV looks. The beautiful MU9000 aims at the others.

The Samsung MU9000 TV is one of the nicest-looking TVs available, with more modern style and attention to detail than anything in its price class. The separate input box and built-in wiring channels can create a super-clean installation. Picture...

Other TVs at this price and lower from Sony, Vizio and TCL have better image quality.

If you want a TV to look as good turned off as it does playing an image, the Samsung MU9000 is an excellent choice.

Samsung UN55MU9000FXZA

The Samsung MU9000 line of LED TVs offers excellent performance at sub-OLED prices, even if its colors run a bit cool.

Strong contrast. Wide color gamut with fairly accurate primary colors. OneConnect box offers convenient connectivity. Attractive design and interface.

Whites, yellows, and magentas run a bit cool. No legacy analog video connections.

The Samsung MU9000 series of LED TVs offers a great picture with a design aesthetic that's sleeker and more attractive than you get with any budget television. Its colors run a bit cool out of the box, but it otherwise offers excellent picture quality,...

Samsung UN55MU9000 smart TV review: No quantum dots, but silky smooth motion

Samsung's mid-range MU9000 series gives Sony's 930E a run for its money, thanks to a very smooth and even image.

Smooth motion ; Best-in-class user interface and remote control

Lacks the accuracy and vibrancy of the company's SUHD and QLED TVs. ; One Connect breakout box doesn't offload the ethernet port

The MU9000 looks good, and presents a very smooth, even image with nice detail. And you simply can’t beat the interface and remote, although those are minor concerns when it comes to buying a TV. Color is a major concern and Sony seems to be ever so...

Samsung MU9000 TV

The 4k Samsung MU9000 is a versatile TV, with very good picture quality and great motion handling. It can produce deep and uniform blacks, and supports HDR quite well. It isn't all good though as the image accuracy degrades at an angle and the range of...

Great dark scene performance ; Feels very responsive ; Can get bright

Images loses accuracy at an angle ; Poor local dimming

Samsung MU9000 4K TV review: Is curved still compelling?

The MU9000 proves again that while OLED might have the competition licked where black level performance is concerned, when it comes to HDR-friendly

An attractive curved design plays host to bold and bright HDR pictures that are particularly effective in typically bright living room conditions

The curved screen causes some reflection and backlight clouding issues ; Viewing angles are limited ; The MU7000 is a more logical and affordable proposition

The MU9000 proves again that while OLED might have the competition licked where black level performance is concerned, when it comes to HDR-friendly levels of brightness at affordable price points, LCD still packs a powerful punch.
